Prop Hum

I just installed “the diesel if props” on my 2013 LSV. Coming from a 537, I’ve read great things about the 1617 so I gave it a shot. Upgraded the rear ballast from stock 600 to Wakemakers 910 lb. and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Seriously the size of our wake doubled and has so much push! That being said, the 1617 has a hum at lower speeds while bags are empty. Seems like up to about 15mph or so, it has a loud hum (no real vibration, just a hum). Based on performance, I can tolerate the hum as long as it’s not bad for the boat/motor?

Will I be okay if it hums? Aside from being annoying?

I think you are ok. I believe that a lot of different props will give a "hum or growl". As long as there's no vibration you should be ok.

Thank you for the response! That’s what I was telling myself, but didn’t want to be bias ha! I will mess around with some other options, but from what I have seen, this is the best one for boats with trailer clearance issues.
