2020+ JL audio Tuning with TuN

Started playing with the Mvi amps and TuN
software. All I can say is the factory Tune is conservative and way more on the table. What an improvement just tweaking some minor things.

I am sure a pro could make it insane.

You can always update the stock tune, it’s free if you have a lap top and a usb A to B cable.

I will go out a limb and say my current tune is better than the 2022, but when the 2022 is released I will compare it

Haha, I’ll let you know when my ‘22 gets delivered! My only comparison is with the wet sounds system in my previous moomba...

I got help, would be happy to help. Hey, maybe the 2022 tune IS better than what I have.

The 2021 tune was halfway better than the 2020.

Subs have so much more headroom

Recently got the Bluetooth cord to adjust mine. I always thought the stereo sounded subpar with very little bass. He is absolutely correct with the stock settings. I believe they set them that way for warranty issues.

You will have to let me know how the Bluetooth cable and TuN phone app works.

TuN on the laptop I figured shows you a lot more.

I think you have an SL, the two 10” subs may still have some room.

The SA two 12” subs sound incredible in garage/barn but on the lake were meh.

They were turned down a lot on the factory tune, I barely turned them up and it makes a huge difference on the water.

Meters are still safely in green.

I used the tun mobile app on an iPad as the phone express app is very limited. All I did was adjust the levels up. They were all at 6 and I was safely able to keep it amber and below at 9. I didn’t mess with anything else on the app. The subs sound much better now for just 10s. I was shocked that the sl is the only Supra that doesn’t have 12s.
It also seemed like before the volume needed to be 40+ To even hear anything when running.

Keep in mind that the SL top deck molds were designed in model year 2018 and I don’t think JL’s 12” subs were out yet.

That is why the SL has 2 10’s

My subs were also at 6 and I bumped mine to 7 but also took them from 6db’s to 12db’s on the trim levels. And I get great bass response at much lower volume levels.
