First time was debris in the lake from high water.
Second time was the boat lift in the slip. We back in over the lift and if the boats not well centered we can catch a bunk ear.

Can't say I've ever seen anyone that backs their inboard into the lift...not saying it's asking for trouble but that's asking for trouble :)

You know I have considered backing into mine before, but decided not to do that for that exact reason. I told myself if the lift swung and twisted just a bit and the boat twisted the opposite way, and I didn't lower it way down below the depth of the prop I might hit it.

Can't say your wrong, but it's just so much more useful backed in. I can set the lift where the swim platform is literally at dock height with about a 1 foot gap between the swim platform and the dock. So to load, you just walk on to the boat. Easy peasy.
