Looks like a good idea, but try to find something with better reviews. Also not sure how waterproof it needs to be if you install on the dash. We put the phones, wallet, etc. in the glovebox and my Mojo has a usb port in there for charging. The radio controls the music via bluetooth so no loss.

Yes, thinking of mounting to the left of drivers console. It has great reviews elsewhere, just hadn’t been out long. Only 3 Amazon reviews. It mounts under the console and charges from below.

If the sun hits your phone it'll overheat and stop wireless charging, mine notifies me all day long from it in my car.

Good call...might have to pick another spot. Anyone modified the cubby below the dash for a larger size?

Im not going to lie wireless charging is terrible on a boat. You never leave your phone there long enough to get any real charge. Every bump of the water doesn't disconnect it but it will kinda jack with your bluetooth giving you a slight delay. Then the issue of the sun. Its a neat feature to have but I plug into a usb charger right beside my wireless one haha

My Supra wireless charger barely charges my iPhone X. Had it on for an hour and it gained 1%.

Similar here, mine just keeps it topped off, I can run tunes all day long though and the battery stays the same level for the most part.
Apple and Google both have their own charging protocol that they want you to buy so generic chargers are slower than the factory ones.

I wish it worked faster but I live having it, no more phone dieing while playing music.
I pretty much lock my phone in the holder and don't touch it again all day except to change playlists occasionally.

I put mine in last outing and was streaming for 5 hrs, and only removed it for 10 mins. I had went from 65% to full through a wallet case.

It’s the first time I’ve used it.

Not the best pic, but it’s to the left of steering wheel.

Hasn’t overheated yet. Helps that it’s vertical and my windshield is 5% tint.

Just alternative for us that don't have the pads built in is to use quick chargers in stead of the usb ports or cheapy chargers. I can go from 0 to 100 pretty quick, like an hour. :)

My iPhone overheated after only about an hour and it was 20 degrees C outside.

I now cover it up to keep it out of direct sunlight

Mine would definitely overheat. I now have 5% window tint and it would probably be fine however gotta admit I could see the Supra one being way more useful do to you don’t have to remove the phone from the charger to use and it should hold it there instead of jumping around

The Supra layout is well done, the phone looks like a 3rd screen. You can also bypass the charger by moving the phone up about an inch.

The charger when active, does add heat to the phone.

The same fool that came up with this on the Craz, I think it's for kids sized cell phone or and 2000s sized Iphone..lol

Yeah, I hate that thing. I always think I can cram my phone in there and it winds up on the floor about 15 seconds later. Worse yet, is on our 2016 Moomba, there is a cubby adjacent to the cupholders that goes back behind the side panel. Put your phone in the cupholder or on the block there and it is likely to fall into the cubby. I lost my phone back there but was able to find it thanks to my apple watch. My sister-in-law had hers slip back there while we were at Lake Powell and thought she had just left it in the car. Didn't find it for another 2 weeks.

I 3d printed a peice that fills the hole, I have a switch there now. The cubby is in a bad spot and seems kinda limited what you can do with it.

Was looking around and found this one. It has much better reviews, holds the phone secure, and is angled to keep phone out of direct sun.

I see they make a flat version also.
Not sure if you have the switch in the cubby, but I don't. Could replace that pointless piece with flat ABS plastic and then mount the charger there. Out of the sun, close to the radio for BT.

That’s my plan, to incorporate some sort of a mount in the cubby next to the radio. I like the angle on this one for visibility. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210618/517aa58d8c542b2e2eddeb5405f9c7ce.jpg

Here’s my install. Used one of the pocket mounting screws and one additional screw. The unit is very sturdy, charges through my case, and holds the phone very secure.

Very happy with it. If I decide I ever don’t want it I can buy a new pocket or just run the screw back in. Very well built. Can rotate it 90 degrees also.

Will see how it work with the sun on it. I don’t foresee any issues. I can still tilt it flat or even down out of the sun if I need to.

Can you show the backside of the mount?
I have the same dash in my mojo. This is certainly interesting.
