View Full Version : Leaking nylon fittings to exhaust manifold

So I got the 2004 Outback running after finding that the throttle cable came of the gear selector and it wasn’t in neutral. Thanks to this forum for all the suggestions. But I ran the boat for a few minutes on the lake and the automatic bilge comes on. I open the engine compartment to see that the nylon fittings are leaking in a couple of areas. One of the fittings is under the riser and can’t be removed unless I take off the riser from the manifold. I attached a picture of the fittings. My question is can I just re-seal these fittings or do I need to buy new ones? Also, after I remove the riser to get to the other fitting should I use something like a permatex gasket maker or purchase a gasket that I see online to mate the riser to the manifold? Thanks for any suggestions.
