Heres my question if i fill my ballast in my outback and have 5 to 6 people in the boat can i expect a beginner to intermediate level wake?? Also will we have to work at to clear the wake? My old boat no ballast and was a i/o drive i really had to get a run at it and load the line to make it!

It's all in the techniqe. The stock ballast on the outback isn't very much, I think it's 275lbs. Though I have seen someone throw huge tantrums behind my outback with the stock ballast too. On the other hand, it's a little easier with more weight, you don't have to work as hard. I run a 750lb sac under the rear seat and 300lbs under the front seats. We also usually have 5 to 7 people in the boat and it throws a nice wake. In fact, i rode behind a 07 MC X2 last Sunday with stock ballast (1100 lbs) and 7 people and the wake was the same as my boat.

Was running inlaws in the back and 450lb of water up front 40/60 rule.
Now have 1200lb in the back (couch) and 450 lb up front and no inlaws.
Water doesn't talk back.

Guys thank you very much. I was getting nervous thinking I might have bought the wrong boat but since half my family are avid slalom skiers I think this the best all around boat. My dealer told me the rear ballast is 400 lb that souund right??
