Ok guys. First time ever doing this. I removed a bunch of old graphics and wanted to buff and polish boat. Bought hula boat care compound and wool
Pad. Hula boat hang ten wax and buffing pad. When using the wool pad and compound, it looks like I am shaving a sheep at all the wool from the pad. Is this normal? I tried it slow and fast. I have just a generic DA polisher off of Amazon
Thanks

Wool pads shed when new, it should stop eventually
If you have a pad spur, run it through the pad for a minute or two on full speed to help remove shedding.

Be sure to check the air intake of your DA. If it gets clogged with stray wool, you can cook the motor.

Also. Bottle says in between 1500 and 2500 rpm. All my DA has is 1 thru 5 settings? How do I estimate the speed

Is it a DA or rotary?
Because the speed can mean two very different things between the two.

You really can’t run a DA too fast. Try using setting 3-4 to start.
1500-2500 sounds like a rotary polisher, which I don’t recommend for a beginner.
