Hello guys,

I am thinking of buying a Moomba LSV. I checked other boats as well but I couldn't find a better deal than the LSV.

My main concern is the salt water use. I live in Greece and at the picture below is where I am hoping to have my brand new LSV.

The problem is that is a salt water lake and if I actually buy it I have to use it there. I am not planning to drive to the open water but I would like to ask your opinion about that.

Since this will be my 1st wakeboard boat any tips are really important. Should I buy it even that I will use it only is salt water? What I have to keep in mind? etc....

Mastercraft has saltwater version boats but I am not sure if I can afford that much and if indeed are so much better.

Thank you,

Hello David,

Yes it is really nice there. Nobody goes there really and the mountains block the wind like huge walls! ...super flat water! :D

I guess the "Closed Cooling System" is also called "Fresh Water Cooling" that cost $1,095.00 extra ?

...and it means that the engine will not use the lake water to cool itself but similar to a car's cooling system?

Disadvantages (if any) of using the "closed cooling system"?

Do I need anything else to consider?

Thank you once again,
Andronikos

I was looking online about the "Fresh Water Cooling" and here are some FAQ:

Do a search through all the old Salt Water issues and you will find a load of info that will give you a pretty good idea what to expect..

Not to much to worry about, a lot more work involved and a PERKO Flush kit i would say is the way forward. Much Cheeper and a lot easier to fit.

What part of Greece is that???

My question as well. Beautiful lake!
I love my '05. Saw the '07 at a recent boat show. You'd be very happy with it. I would get the closed cooling system just for the peace of mind. Good luck.

Hello again,

Still I have not order my new boat. At least I can now afford an XLV and maybe a XLV GG. I am only interested for wakeboarding and wakeskating so I think are better boats for my use.

The majority of people riding in my country (Greece) have X-Stars, Nautiques and Malibus. I am still sceptical if the Moomba XLV can be a competitive and reliable package.

Since I have not that much $ to spend on a boat... and I do not want to wait another year or two which boat do you recommend around 50K? I am also looking the Supras and the Centurion Avalance C4.

Unfortunately I can not test drive any of these boats here so my order is mainly based upon your input and reviews.

Thank you in advance,
Andronikos

order your boat, save the 7-10,000 dollars and use it---then clean it and flush the motor.

you will be happy!--that is all that matters

you just cant go wrong with the moomba brand

out of the 12 boats ive owned this is by far my favorite

what time is it??

Hello moombadaze,

I used to live in FL, North Tampa. I will visit again FL this August for a business trip. I think it will be a good opportunity to see "live" the Moombas and why not test drive one.

I would love to see your boat and wakeboard together if you want. If you ever visit Athens-Greece you have a Moomba wakeboard-buddy!

I will go with the moomba XLV... or the XLV GG.

Yes great lake! It is super clean, you can swim, nice blue water but it is a salt water lake because it has a small opening to the sea. And the best part - nobody goes there!
