You will probably need to add a bit more weight if normally a small crew, but the 16 Mojo has the 2.0 plates and is a most excellent surf machine with plenty of room for everyone.

That is the boat we bought last summer. We really love it. It surfs nicely when properly weighted and tows like a champ. Nice strong and clean wave on the port side. Can be a little messy on the starboard side, but with a little work it cleans up nicely, especially in deep water.

So 4,000 pounds isn't enough weight? There 1,100 each locker and 1,800 total from mid and bow. need more weight in back? Thanks for the feedback

4000 pounds is perfect if you always go out with 5-7 people. Most don't, I added 500 pounds of lead wake and moved it around as needed, always had a great wave, regular and goofy. And the wakeboard wake is legit.

This is exactly right. If you get above 6 people in the boat (we have some light people), not an issue at all to just run with the 4,000 lbs of ballast. You need to cheat the weight a bit to the starboard side when you run a starboard wave, but port has no problem when you fill it all the way both sides for low numbers of people. When we tried to run with 4 people late on a late season run, I couldn't quite get the push I wanted when we loaded up all the ballast, but I only had about 550 lbs of people in the boat. Could have also been shallow water in the lake interfering though (14-16 feet in late season). We were able to surf on Lake Powell with a similar crew earlier in the year with plenty of push in the deep water (350 ft). I really like the wake profile for waterskiing as well once the ballast is dropped from the back and at about 50% in the front, but the ballast takes a long time to fill and drain (10-15 minutes) since it is single pump for each zone.

how did you guys all get more ballast in the Mojo Surf? My boat has 2500lbs in ballast with the two rear bags at 650lb each plus a center tank of 700lbs plus a front bag of 500lbs. Did you guys put lead bags in the boat and if so, where?

Replace the 650 bags with 1100 or now wakemakers has 1200's.

Add 500 -600lbs lead you are at 4,000lbs.

Go Enzo bag 1450 each in rear but they will take all the storage under the midship seats also. But 2900 + 1200 + 500 lead = 4600lbs

This is exactly my setup. (w/ 1100 rear bags)

My 600 of lead is:

1 bag behind each rear locker carpet panel
2 bags each side rear locker (but to front of that section) floor under ballast bag.
1 bag each side mid ship under seats
4 bags to play with in the boat for leverage.
