Ok peeps, spring is right around the corner so that means spring cleaning.

Use RCHlove for 10% off most products and detailing kits not already discounted.

Stay tuned for a review of their new Silica spray.

(Silica Spray Sealant, HBC-50, brings ceramic style hydrophobicity and protection to enthusiasts and professionals alike with a user-friendly application. Unlike a spray wax or spray detailer, Silica Spray Sealant is oil based and filled with Si02 polymers that begins to cure in 1 hour after application and fully cures in 24hours to provide a hard layer of Si02 protection that lasts months.

Treated surfaces like gelcoat, glass, paint, metal and GatorStep products are wrapped in a layer of hydrophobic cross-linking polymers that bond to the surface and are resistant to most cleaners and the elements. This coating makes hard surfaces look glossier and feel silky as it repels water and dirt making cleaning a breeze after a day on the water.)

RC,

Is the HBC-50 good for hard water stains? I get hard water spots that dry on, and won’t come off except with a polisher.

RC,

Is the HBC-50 good for hard water stains? I get hard water spots that dry on, and won’t come off except with a polisher.I wish I could tell you, I should have some arriving shortly and plan on doing some testing and sharing the results with the group.

My guess is no since it's more of a surface protectant than a cleaner.

My deck and hull are black so I'm used to dealing with water spots.

Everyone has their go-to be it hot sauce, boat juice, vinegar mixtures, etc.

I use Gnarly Water Spot Remover every wipe down so I guess my water spots don't get to the point where they are really baked in.

I was using Gnarly before I had anything to do with Hula...mainly because it works and more importantly it smells good.

For all the hot sauce users out there, good on y'all. I'd rather my boat and myself not smell like cat piss. <Flame suit on [emoji91]>

After a thorough surface prep with a cleaner wax, that would be the best time to apply the HBC-50, then the hydrophobic properties would cut down on future cleaning.

I got some of their products for Christmas and achieved good results. Easy to work with as well. I may have to get some of that sealant.

do ceramic sealants protect from UV rays like wax does?

do ceramic sealants protect from UV rays like wax does?Yes, a layer of Si02 protects against the sun's ultraviolet rays, thereby reducing the amount of oxidization.

When can we expect a review of the ceramic sealant? I might try to get down to the boat in the next few weeks and wouldn’t mind getting an early start on prepping the boat for the season.

I might try to get down to the boat in the next few weeks and wouldn’t mind getting an early start on prepping the boat for the season.I plan on doing a two part review of the ceramic sealant with part one dropping here within the next week or so depending on weather.

Part one will be prep and application to gelcoat, glass & maybe vinyl.

Part two would be after a few sessions to get an idea of how well it performs and determine if future cleaning is in fact easier.

Just ordered a Marine Water Spot and Vinyl Kit and an eco-bundle of Rad 5. Thanks for the $10 off RC, every little bit helps.

I'm still buying gear and supplies in advance in anticipation of my April delivery. I've been pacing myself since November so as not to have to spend a ton at once while incurring the boat payment at the same time. I have a couple of wet suits coming this week and I should be about done except for a spare prop! I'm getting antsy!! Lol

I have about a half a bottle of Hot Sauce left from my I/O, so it will nice to wipe down one side of the boat with Bling and the other side with Hula and compare the two. The Hula might be a little pricey for me right now, I think I'm going to try some Turtle Wax Seal and Shine or maybe some 303 Graphene Nano Spray Coating to start out. I know they are automotive products but I cant see how they wouldn't work on gel coats as well.

If you like RAD5 you can save money and buy RAD10 concentrate, mix RAD10 with 10 parts water equals RAD5.

What do I look like ? A diluting peasant?

I wanted the Eco bundle because it came with the sprayer and the gallon jug. Gonna give it a shot and if I like it , I'll probably order the 10.

I am absolutely a peasant now, therefore I dilute.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThank you sir, much appreciated!

Your detail game is strong so that means a lot [emoji1420]

I know Griot's isn't a Flex or Rupes but the G9 is pretty well balanced and was real comfortable to use.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThanks!!

Surface Prep:

1) Dawn dish soap to strip paint of oils, residues.

2) Riptide Liquid Compound - Hula Wool pad or Orange correction pad from Griot's

3) Hang Ten Cleaner Wax - Hula green pad

Surface Protection:

4) Big Kahuna Polymer Sealant - Hula blue finishing pad

However, instead of the BK sealant I'm going to apply two coats of the Silica Spray.

The Silica spray comes with a microfiber applicator pad and edgeless mf towels.
