15w40 is wrong, in fact none of the Raptors call out a 15w40

Personally I would run Castrol edge full syn 5w30 as you can find it for $19-$22 per 5qts on Amazon.

alright that makes perfect sense im going to give the dealer a call and see if maybe they had a misprint and if they did hopefully no damage was done i should be able to just drain and swap

The 15w40 is the oil used in the last generation GM blocks.

Guessing your dealer invested in some 55 gallon drums of 15w40 and figured ehhh good enough for a Chevy, must also work for a Ford.

All said, I doubt it will hurt a Raptor, but why not run the grade recommended and upgrade to a full synthetic for the same price or less than the indmar semi synthetic......

def agree looking into the castrol today and i think i have the cross number for the filter and instead of fire it and warm up ill just use a drill pump i found that the panel should come out in the surf locker which should make for way easier access as im a little bigger fella

Ideally you want to warm up the oil a bit, especially if you have 15w40 currently in it.

Extraction pumps work really good.

I highly recommend this pump as it will hold your 8qt capacity.

Also grab this size hose barb to attach to the factory drain hose.

I run Motocraft semi 5w30 from Walmart. You can't buy full syn for less that what 2 5 gallon jugs cost, at least not a name brand.

I was comparing the indmar semi syn that the dealer charges $9 a qt.

My guess is Indmar is just relabeled motorcraft

Right on. Between 2 Raptor engines and over 800 hours, the Motocraft has been solid.

I have no doubt it is.
