Stocking up on essentials for the new-to-me Mojo.

I like the bumper over traditional fenders bit anyway this site could get a better price? I saw the group buy post back in April 2020. Anything coming for 2021?

Which brand should I go with?

I had a pair of BABZ (same as the LTU) that both developed holes within the year.
They are really just children's bouncy toys not boat bumpers.

I have since switched to these and they are much much more durable. Assuming you keep them inflated all the time I prefer them to the bouncy balls. They are much firmer so inflating and deflating is a chore if you don't keep them inflated. Mine stay blown up in my rear locker at all times and I have zero fear of them ever getting punctured or a big wave flexing them enough for the boat to hit the dock.

Depends on what you're using them for I suppose. I don't want to inflate/deflate every time I go to the dock. I use them as bumpers not to tie up with other boats (also that but not primarily that). I grew very tired of inflating them and deflating them at least twice a day, that lasted about 3 outings.
Now they live in the lockers unless we need the space, then they hang on the sides of the tower.

Looking like 20 people is not that hard to come by.

I started the thread and I am certainly in.
I figured I would inflate for the day, hang on the tower when not needed and then deflate once we pull out. When at Norris, Dale Hollow, etc. basically use them daily and deflate once we pull out of the water.

I use both types of fenders.

With a cove tie-up, I use the inflatable ones b/c it allows more room between boats for the tower racks.

For pulling up to docks (possible screw heads), I use Taylor or Dockmate Fenders - 6x15 or 5.5x20 size. Those will last longer. Inflatable ones pop too easy.

I never deflate my fenders during the season. Love the protection inflatable give versus traditional and I would never go back.

Ironically, I had just reached out to Eric (LTU owner) about a potential forum member discount right before this thread started, so I've offered up to RC to coordinate the discount process this time around since he did it last year. He obliged.

With that being said, I just heard back from Eric and he has agreed to another group purchase (there are no individual forum member discounts.) He again wants to only discount the Prestige Package, but this year he's added a bigger and thicker fender option. Pricing is below assuming we get 20 people signed up.

According to Eric they’re 3x thicker than the standard balls. I assume still 24”-28” in diameter, but will confirm.

I have used the boat2boat bungees...they make tie-ups that much more simpler.

The bungees are segmented so you can span different distances and tension depending on the size of bumpers between the boats.

That is also what I read on the online reviews. Most also commented about using standard lines for overnight or longer periods of time.

Somebody on the Norris group did not like using them in rougher water for tie-ups. Claimed they caused the boats to bounce/rub more if wakes came by.

13 so far. I talked to Eric and he agreed to shoot for the end of February to have the group buy wrapped up...so we should be good. To make sure he gets 20 orders (to justify the discount) he doesn't ship until all 20 orders are in. As of now, the discount will only be applied to the Prestige Package. However, assuming you want 4 balls the package includes both types of bungees and comes in at a lower price than piecemeal...and that's before the discount.

Update. Based on the below list and the results of the FB poll we have enough interest to get a 20% off coupon code (Prestige Packages). However, LTU wants to wait until the new Big Bertha balls are available before the coupon is live. The Berthas have a similar quality to the red bounce balls I bought off Amazon previously, but a bigger size. I bought the prestige package because of the other accoutrements it came with, and I prefer the black color over red. I had concerns about red colors bleeding off onto gel coat.

Having a DC inflation pump is baller too. No pun intended.

I think you’ll be fine with the xl’s. Only reason I went with berthas was because we were supposed to be tying up to cousins tooner, and wanted some buffer between the platform.
