Texas Beaches

I notice there are quite a few people on this Forum from Texas. We are looking to take the kids on a beach vacation this year in early April, and wanted check out Texas. Any recommendations of a good kid friendly location along the coast. We would want it to be beach worthy weather also, so I assume that means a little further south. Thanks!

Texas has beaches, yes. They are not necessarily pretty in the traditional sense with brown water and seaweed on the beaches depending on time of year.

South Padre Island is pretty nice but is a college student haven during spring break.

Crystal beach near Galveston is pretty nice as well and a little less frat party.

If its summer you shouldnt have much issues at padre, maybe check out mustang island too.
