Been lurking both forums for a while reading up on tons of info.

After a long process that seemed to drag on for ever she’s finally home! Arrived from Texas today to its meeting home in North Carolina.

We can’t wait to get out in the water! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210121/e6add657f861102b04a54f0007e66b2a.jpg

Welcome and congrats on the 17SA!!! You will love it.

Do yourself a favor and stay here instead of the Supra forum. Way more relevant info for modern Supra owners here.

Thanks fellas! Yeah I stay on this forum a lot more because of the reasons listed.

I searched for many months and had a lot of convincing to do with the wife. Finally she caved and said it just couldn’t have any red in it.

Shoot. For all I care it could be pink as long as I could bring it home!

Main factors behind this 17SA included the interior color (sold me from the beginning), upgraded ballast with enzos, steering wheel controls, gators Step, steps on trailer (it’s tall getting up there), simple colors and low hours (300 ish).

I grew up on lakes all my life and for many years surfed and wakeboards. Sold my Malibu in 2010 and vowed I would get one someday again.

I narrowed it down to Malibu, mastercraft, axis and Supra and Supra took the win by far!

We got a great deal since we closed in November and we’ll be in the water in March.

I look forward to learning more about this ride from you all. I come from filling up fat sacks with pumps. Walking all over them. No perfect pass (or zero off). All this expensive tech will at least help the wife learn to love to drive the boat [emoji869]

Nice ride, and congrats. Welcome to the club. Mo’ pics. If we don’t get snow, I’m not sure I’ll even see my boat this summer, so I have to look at others.

I really wish my trailer had the steps too. I tried contacting Boatmate to see if I could have them added to my trailer... crickets.

Sounds like you did your homework... first thing I'd check and or replace are your ballast pump impellers. With 3 pumps and larger bags, they might need serviced. Also, you have Seadeck, not GatorStep, really only matters if you plan to add more like I did for it to be all color matched. Enjoy the ride! If you're on Facebook, be sure to join the owners page.

Thanks for the correction on the sea deck. Good point on the ballast impellers. I’ll check them out soon.

I’m a HUGE impulse buyer. No matter the amount. It’s sort of embarrassing. So after I got the wife on board with getting a boat she was really proud of how much time and research I dedicated!

Some more pics...until I get her floating!

This, and I'd add also, check with the previous owner or dealer to make sure the raw water pump impeller in the engine cooling system has also been replaced. That's another end user serviceable item that is commonly forgotten about.

Good looking boat...congrats!

That is my local dealer, I've personally bought 3 from them and sold another 4 or 5 for them. Did you deal with Chris on the sale?

Yeah. Chris helped us out and was awesome the whole way. Happy to have dealt with him that’s for sure. Couldn’t have asked for a more patient salesperson since we had a few roadblocks, were out of state, and never actually went to see the boat.

It was a gamble for sure. But he did a great job with pictures, details, and the walk through.

We have a great boating scene out here. But Supras are few and when I made my decision it was set on a 16-17 Supra SA.

Are you a window tint fan? It would look pretty good with those outside colors.

Good comments on the ballast and raw water impellers. One more for you - in the owners manual there is a section for maintenance. At 300 hours there is some suggested items to replace. If the boat was serviced at the dealer, they can tell you if that was done. Otherwise, keep that in mind for when you want to get that done. It has items like:

trans fluid - easy to do yourself
drive fluid - easy to do yourself
spark plugs
fuel filter
checking other items

Have the owners manual and will check into it. Thanks for all the advice.

Agree it would look amazing with tint. However, I’ve read a lot of the horror stories here with getting the tint on and having to take the windshield off etc.

Also, wife is new to boating and I fear if I tint then she won’t “see well” (notice the quotes [emoji849]) and won’t want to drive.

If you’re ever in the Durham area send me a message. We live in Hillsborough. Between Durham and Greensboro.

On a side note. Finally got to play with some of the features of the boat today and I can’t believe how far these boats have come in the past 12 years. The price tag, unfortunately also came along for a ride!

I can’t wait to really dial this thing down. Been reading the auto wake posts and about all of the gadgets.

If y’all have any “go to” or “must do” suggestions please do let me know!

Hyco is MUCH closer than Gaston for you! If you ever want a pull let me know. Will be definitely looking for thirds [emoji869]
