Hey Guys,
Looking at buying a 2021 mojo or a 2021 max. both of them will be pretty much fully loaded
the mojo specd is 97320 and the max is 84540.
is the mojo worth the extra 13k usd(20k cad)
also what set ups are you guys running if you opt out on the factory sound systems(i think id be fine with the mojo's wetsound premium option, but the max doesn't offer that so i would probably do the speakers my self
let me know your opinions.

Mojo, to add sound to your max will eat up a chunk of the 13k delta.

that's a tough one...hard call.. had a 2018 Max and absolutely LOVED it... 100% trouble free. awesome boat.
sold it at the end of summer and going loaded Mojo now.. (at least that's the plan).
almost went Max again for 2021.. what drew us to the Mojo (besides the fact we already had a Max for 3 years and felt like trying something different.).. was the available flow 3.0 and it seems to have less bow rise, but only judging by the very limited amount of video (haven't demo'ed it myself yet). It's also a longer boat and has a redesigned hull.
Pros for the max: the Depth of the Max simply can't be beat.. never, EVER, Ever took a roller over the bow... no matter what (with 1k lead).. hoping the Mojo doesn't dissapoint in that aspect. Also, if you add more weight manually to the surf side you can clean up the wave as good, maybe better than than 3.0. so ?? Once it's dialed in, it's killer.. set it and forget it.
either way -- you absolutely can't go wrong!
Side note: For the sound system, I skipped adding the tower speakers on my Max at the dealer, and installed Exile Audios, Exile amps and two 12" subwoofers. that thing was freaking LOUD. I believe the wiring is all pre-installed in the Tower, so It's not that hard.

Mojo gets you 6 cockpit speakers vs 4 on the Max and the Mojo gets you Rev10 speakers vs Rev8’s on the Max.
Interior design is pretty similar between the two if you option the Max with the 7” screen so your choice mainly comes down to which styling do you prefer and is that worth the cost to you. You can get Flow 3 on the Mojo from the factory so that helps sweeten the deal. Flow 3 can be added to the Max (required 7” screen) either by yourself or through your dealer if they’re willing.

larry's right. figure 3k for tower speakers and amp. now it's 10k in difference.
I'd take the mojo for that but honestly either boat is a win......
for me I'd never spec a premium stereo as I prefer to do it myself and pick components that I like better but to each their own.

I spent about 4328 hours on this same subject. I'm the guy who stares at the two bottles of ketchup figuring out the better deal.
You will love either...
That being said....
Mojo all day long. Seriously. Brand new design with better resale. Full walk through. Hinged Seats. Better Sound System without the need to cut holes in your boat. Flow 3. More attractive by almost everyone's standards.
The Max isn't cheap anymore. Like a forum member said to me when I was fighting the same battle, "In today's new boat market 10-15k delta is nothing"
Put the deposit down on the Mojo and never look back.

I ordered the the 2021 Max because i just preferred the look of it. Love the deep design of this boat. Plus it is my first 'wake boat' so with the research i did and the people that help on here are A+++++
Also, I have a really good dealer, from my experience and others so i optioned mine out to basically everything.... if something goes wrong, i feel like i would be taken care of.
Lastly, I just liked the fact that there are not many Max's around on our lake... so it will be unique to the location.....
Sounds like the mojo is the ultimate though... either way you will be in good hands it sounds like....have fun!

2021 Mojo. It's a better looking boat.
I got to ride with the Wake9 crew on their first video shoot. It's a deep boat. The interior is great.
Mojo will probably perform better out of the box. I've only been on a few Max boats, both had the bigger bags already. Surf wave looked great.
Mojo came out so late this year, not many people are to get out on them and post reviews.
It will be their #1 seller.

Base price is $7000 difference, I think for the newest design, for 23 foot boats, it’s a small price to pay.

I can't believe theyre so close in price. Thats dumb. Why would anyone buy a Craz or Max now.

We chose the Craz because we like a little smaller boat (don't ever have more than 9 or 10 with us), like the look of the traditional bow shape a lot more than the squared off design, better for skiing ( we still love to ski a lot), will fit in my 8 ft garage, etc.

When I was playing with the builder and optioning a Max and Mojo it was a $10k difference optioned the same way except I had Flow 3 on the Mojo vs Flow 2 on the new Max. The new Mojo is a nice boat no doubt. I like them both but my next one would likely be a Supra. Love that new SA!

A lot of people still like the traditional bow. I get it. Im not sure why its better for skiing tho??
You can barefoot behind a Max if thats what youre into.

That’s cool that that guy was footing behind the Max. Keep in mind that the rule of thumb for calculating the speed you need to be able to barefoot is to divide your weight by 10 and then add twenty. If you are a new or novice footer you want to bump that speed up 2-3 miles an hour. The fellow in the footage is an elite level footer. If anybody reading this is planning to learn to foot behind their Moomba you will need to tip the scales at about 160lbs to learn. You can bulk up to 180lbs once you perfect your technique. Scarf down too many burgers at Popeyes and you are back to skiing. Btw, that was was barely skiing LOL

Im currently in the same boat. well lack of a boat. But my build there is a $6,000 difference. That being said, other than the looks what are the actual pros of the mojo vs the max? Really talking surf and performance I totally agree the mojo looks better

1. 6 inches longer
2. Full walk through transom
3. Flow 3 available
4. Hinged Seats
5. Different (Fancier) port side seating arrangements.
6. Access to additional cost upgrades not found on the Max. (Sound, Tower, Lighting,Trailer)
I’m sure there are more I can’t think of.

I think Mojo (correct me if I'm wrong ) -- has gas caps on both sides (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!!) over the Max.
My 2018 Max had the gas cap on the opposite side of my truck which drove me INSANE.
having to pull up, use two full gas pumps, and then have to drive around and find 2 open gas pumps on the OPPOSITE side. That Sucked!!
Almost enough in itself to make me consider the Mojo.

Ordered a Mojo yesterday, took a 2021 mojo out on the water and it was amazing. Tons of new features in this model. Gas tank on both sides, anchor storage in the front. Hinged seats are great however not in the bow. The walk through transom was very nice however wasn't a huge fan of the filler cushion. If you want to remove it it will not really fit anywhere on the boat, and makes it very difficult to access the engine. Also the Port side has a removal seat and a back rest that will slide in, reconfiguring these would be a pain however does let you set up the boat in a lot of different configurations. Also the 6 wet sound speakers around the boat (not the tower speakers) lit up and now show the wet sounds logo, this plus the lights on the cup holders give it a great aesthetic.

The only negative I see with the rear walk throughs on the Moomba boats is you lose the stern seating “bench” that runs almost the width of the boat. On the boats with a walk through you just get a single little bench for one person to sit. On the Supra boats that still retain the rear seating ‘bench’ across the width of the boat and it’s deeper into the boat.

Does the cushion fit in the port side console?
Are there two filler cushions? Bow and transom walk-thru?

The back filler cushion actually fits great in a garage.
Which is where the vast majority of people will store it. I find that most people think they will “absolutely lay out” on the transom sun pad when buying the boat , but the truth is on a boat that big, you have better options in the bow and cabin. Plus, you can’t elevate your head like most people do when laying out.
I would still personally get this option because it’s a ridiculous deal at just a couple hundred bucks, but if were north of 500 bucks, I’d take a hard pass.

In our case we are opposite. My wife and daughter always use the sunpad to layout and rarely use the bow even though I keep the filler cushion always installed in it.

The sun deck filler may fit however after trying for a few moments of failure we just threw it in the truck. So yes two filler cushions. The bow cushion which sits on a lip all the way around. And the new sun deck filler which has 4 tab like feet which are held down by the hatches on either side. There is a fair amount of air space under the cushion so it doesn't touch the gator step.

Hi,
I can relate to the ketchup bottle scenario as I am the same way, excel spread sheets and all. I decided on the Mojo 2021 build slots are full so we are now in 2022 for a July delivery! I wanted the flow 3.0 figuring it would dial the wave in just a little bit better. We tested a Max and it had a good wave out of the box but needed a little tuning. looking at the specs between the two both have 4000 lbs of ballast and the mojo is 200 lbs heavier than the MAX. the new hull design puts the Mojo nearly as deep in the back as the MAX! Love the walk through in the back and the went for the premium sound upgrade, underwater lights and dock lights, none of which were available on the max. Also like the trash can in the floor and anchor storage in the bow also not on the max. everything else was the same on both boats...

I gotta say you have MUCH more patience than I have. no way I'd wait 1.5years for a boat.
build slots are full but some of those will likely be dealer spec boats. might check out onlyinboards as the year progresses and bet you will find one that fits almost all the boxes and can have some time this year...
either way good luck.

To clarify- You have a build slot for a 2022 Mojo which will be delivered in July 2021?

Sorry for the confusion, the build date is June 2021 for a July 2021 delivery of the 2022. Apparently the model year changes in July so [only] 6 months
