View Full Version : Go Home auto wake feature for 2021

Just curious if any one has talked to their dealer about the new auto wake feature. I’m not 100% sure how it works but I would be interested in seeing if it is compatible with my 2020 Max. What I really want is for all 3 plates to deploy when taking off until the boat planes. At altitude I struggle to get on plane if I have 60% or more water ballast. My brothers Centurion has all 3 plates deploy and it makes a huge difference compared to just the center plate. We tested it and it was a big deal. Hoping this go home feature does something similar. And if not just using the plates to balance the boat out is cool too.

Have you tried turning on auto wake and just setting the cruise? We have no problem with our 2017 fully loaded.

I saw that on their social media as well. I asked the same and if it was just a software update older AutoWake boats could flash and get it.

It's a bit more than standard AutoWake launch feature. I think this was a feature on Supra's that has trickled down to Moomba now but I could be wrong.

GO HOME LEVELING
This new AutoWake® feature independently adjusts each Flow Surf Plate to create a comfortable, stable ride when you’re headed home.

I think the op is a little confused. He describes launch, which he should have?

Go home is just autoleveling at cruise when empty using the tabs. I guess it could also launch too—but that’s not what go home has added.

You just need to use Autowake with the cruise set as described....it should launch like you’re asking. All three plates in play.

This is how Supras do it since 2017, all 3 plates are in play for launch.

https://youtu.be/EMZ3DgYI3ac

It’s a great feature if moombas added it.

Auto leveling just throws enough surf tab to level the roll when cruising, so if all your crew is sitting to one side, the tab adjust to bring roll to 0 deg.

All three plates deploy 100% if you have autowake on with cruise on? I only use auto wake intermittently to check pitch and roll but never leave it on. So do you have to have cruise on in order for it to work? Or just autowake?

Is there a quick way to turn launch off on a 2017? I find that in choppy water and no ballast it flattens nose. Guarantees some water in the face.

We have a 2017 Craz. After surfing for a while we'll head to the beach. With everything fun it struggles to get on plane (maybe it won't). I turn autowake on set cruise to 25ish and she pops up on plane with no problem. I hope I'm understanding the question here.

It probably uses launch—so that would make sense.

Good idea. I will try with cruise on and off. I know how to change launch in the settings but I think it comes back on next trip out.

I just wish the 2019 Supras could be flashed to use the Auto-level function. Sucks having to use the ballast pumps to level the boat while running.

Honestly, I really don’t think you’re missing that much. It is decent but I don’t think I would classify it as a game changer.

Turn your auto wake on to amplitude zero and it’s about as effective.

Good call....No cruise means no launch! Worked great today in some chop. No spray (good thing because water was chilly). I guess I never really noticed that cruise was on almost always.

Reviving this one to see if anyone knows if you are able to change the "set" speed for the Go Home feature on a Moomba? Its default is 25.

After you engage go home, just tap down on your speed until you get it to what you want.

Will it save that speed for the next time I engage it? Or do I have to reduce it every time?

Since you can't save profiles, you'll have to do it every time, you can also increase speed as well this way. I use go home on my SA and just adjust speed to what the water dictates, no big deal.

i never turn cruise control off, so the plate stays where I want it.

Understood. I just wasn’t sure if there was somewhere to adjust and save the setting for the Go Home preset. Thanks

You might can look in your dealer settings to see what all is in there, code may be 9191 be default. If you've never been in those menus, won't hurt to look at them.

So just to make sure i understand, If i am fully loaded and struggling to get up on plane I need to have autowake on, cruise control on, and hit the "go home" button and that will deploy all 3 tabs to get up on plane faster?

If autowake is on, cruise is on, that is what engages 3 tab launch on Moomba. If you don't want autowake running, you can fool it by leaving a ballast switch to fill, autowake won't engage, but you will still get the launch. Hope that helps

By “fully loaded” you mean with all of your ballast full or just loaded up with gear and people?

thanks for the reply. So let's say i have been surfing without using autowake or the cruise and we are done and are heading back to the dock. Are you saying i can just manually hit the fill switches for the 3 ballast bags and then give it some throttle and this will cause all 3 tabs to deploy to get up on plane faster?

yes, all ballast completely full, extra lead, 7-8 people. If i try and head back to the dock with that much weight i can not get up on plane so i usually sit for 5-10 min to drain the ballast.

You should just be able to turn on Autowake and set it to Wake and I believe that this will also engage the Launch feature. I believe what Knox is saying is that by flipping up your ballast switch with Autowake on it will pause Autowake and not drain your ballast like the Go Home feature does.

I am starting to use the cruise a little more lately but i find that when using cruise the engine will surge from time to time trying to keep the speed constant. It does this especially if the water is choppy. I don't have GPS Zero Off, just the regular cruise. It's not a big deal, just every once in a while it does it.

Does anyone know if the go home feature can be put on a 2020? I have the small screen if that makes any difference. I have played around with the 3 plate launch and there are a few things that really bother me. So right now without the go home feature I turn autowake on, set amp to 0, and turn cruise on and the plates deploy just like they should. The problem is that my bags are full at this point and I want them to drain while I head back to the dock. I can’t remember the speed but at a certain speed the plates go back up and then I can’t hold the speed and I go back and forth to the point I get sick of it and I never use it anymore. If it drained the ballast while I got on plain I think I could keep the speed all the way back to the dock. I haven’t tried it but wouldn’t the plates pull back up if you flipped a ballast switch while autowake is on. I know it gives you a screen that says autowake can’t run while ballast is draining or something. If I could manually drain ballast and still get the three plates to deploy I would be really happy.

Hmmmm that is interesting. By setting amplitude to zero will Autowake not automatically start draining your bags? As far as the small screen I am not sure if it can or not.

In my experience it doesn’t drain the bag unless it is trying to level it out. I could be completely wrong because I might not give it the time it needs to drain the bags but every time I try it I have just finished surfing and the bags are full and I change the amplitude to 0 it doesn’t change much. I just wish there was a button to turn a launch mode on and then the 3 plates deploy with or without autowake.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkSounds like you are going to pull a move like me and find that right combination where you have the tabs all go from full deployed to fully retracted on plane while your rear bags are still full. Get ready for instant nose to the sky! And for everyone in the boat to look at you as if you're an idiot. LOL. You'll know it when it happens!

I would think that if you set it to 0 than it would still try to hit your pitch and roll #s bit with as little ballast as possible in turn draining a good bit.

On the small screen do you have any AutoWake presets? Like 50% 100%?

I don’t think so. But when I take amplitude to 0 it only drains to get the pitch and roll. If it can’t get pitch and roll it stops after it drops 20% on one side and tells me to move people.

I really can’t say for sure if it will work or not with the small screen. On the 7” there is a presets button for AutoWake and it has 4 options 1 of which is “go home leveling”. Without having a preset menu I don’t see it working but I could be wrong. It has happened once before lol
