We just purchased a 2015 mondo with 6.2 l raptor engine 400 hp. My insurance agent has asked me to verify using an official source the boat cannot go 50 mph or above. Any chance someone can direct me to a source?

Maybe this, there is a speed/fuel efficiency rating section that tops out at 36..... https://www.boatingmag.com/boats/moomba-mondo/

Unfortunately that is for the 330 hp engine. Thank you though.

Raptor is 400 torque, not hp. Around 350hp

Yes. Thank you. The boat is in The process of being winterized and going to storage now. Otherwise, I would do just that.

I had same issue with my Mondo. The agent said the boat must go 60 to 70 MPH. I just laughed. You would think an agent could look up more than just HP and have some knowledge about torque. I pay around $400 for $55000 agreed replacement value.

insurance is an odd thing and depends on so many factors BUT I encourage everyone to shop ski safe.
we have 80k in agreed value and a 1k deduct for $302/yr. layup from nov20 to mar20.

and they don't ask how fast it goes :)

You get to store on your property. I have to store mine at a facility and they require coverage. So no lay-up. Sucks, but it gets me to the multi-vehicle discount at least.

layups your boat is still covered under ski safe and would assume most others, it's just a period where you cannot put boat in the water. it's insured against anything in storage but if you use it and something happens, it's on you.
allows them to drop your overall price by, say 15% but days covered are down 33%. win for them in the monies department and win for me that it's cheaper during months you don't use it.

Thank you everyone. I actually was able to get a letter from skiers choice to the insurance agent indicating the top speed...they then finally believed me. I am going to look into ski safe. Thx.
