Are these a worthy option?

My put: no. Not where the factory location is anyway. Get your own and mount them higher.

The GoPro mounts are more useful in my opinion than the phender mount locations, but I think its all or nothing, don't think you can get just the GoPro mounts on the transom from the factory.

It's cheaper that method. I thought about doing the after-market ones to the SL, but never got around to ordering them. Then it was on back-order, then something else, etc. etc.

My fear would be a mount like this. In this pic if this is the port/bow location, looks too low if you wanted a bumper on the rub rail.

Not sure if the design has changed, it’s a pass for me though as I’m too worried about someone scratching up the gel coat trying to get it lined up and pushed in. Especially on a choppy day. No offense to any females on the forum, but go take a look at your wife’s door handle around the key hole... already too many tasks left up to the person making the payments, don’t want to add another to the mix. Looks nice though and a great idea. On a white boat may be fine.

Interested on the height issue, are they too low and you can’t get the fender high enough?

It’s actually a good deal for 6 phender pros. The hardware alone is $600-$700.

Love mine, use them all the time. This is the first boat I've had with them and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Now having said that, I use Hippity Hops as fenders and have them tied off to the Phender pro right against the handle, so the diameter touches the boat below the rub rail. The phender pro receptacle has a large diameter on the outside of the boat and the pin has a tapered delrin or teflon pin. Haven't scratched a thing in 2 years on the current boat, and I'm not the one who puts the fenders out. With the Hops it's so damn easy, I keep 2 inflated all the time, and 2 more deflated. Literally deploy and retrieve your fenders in seconds, and the cleats stay clear of lines.

The SA appears to have the rear one pretty high

And the front one is on top of gunnel.

I love mine especially the ones in the back for the GoPro mount.

I added a set to my Makai and put them all on the top deck. A lot of the restaurants here have fixed docks and when the lake goes down it has always been a challenge to get the bumpers high enough. Put some on my last boat as well in the more traditional location and always wished I had done it different.

With them on top of the gunnel, do you get any rope burn or scuffing on the edge of the gelcoat?

Just do it. The next owner of your boat will be really happy with them.:o

I've had the phender pro on my upgrade list since I bought the new boat just haven't been able to muster the courage it'll take to drill holes in my gel coat, and 3/4 in holes for that matter. My buddy has them in his X23 and they are great. Very convenient, nio need to tie and untie lines to the cleats and leaves the cleats free to use for the rope to tie to dock. They're a great invention and well worth the cost.
They're not so expensive. Remember you need 4 sets of receivers but only 2 pins, unless you plan to put 3 on each side.
I've been eyeing these on amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Phender-Pro-Stainless-Release-Receiver/dp/B07MVL36TQ/ref=pd_sim_nf_263_1/138-9827879-4614460?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07MVL36TQ&pd_rd_r=e9d017c5-a68c-43b8-80f0-91889a12b0e4&pd_rd_w=tzFE2&pd_rd_wg=P9tQQ&pf_rd_p=10308ef8-ff5b-4c31-97a7-90e892c6cc39&pf_rd_r=B7QR9K0VYE1KC535MZM3&psc=1&refRID=B7QR9K0VYE1KC535MZM3

Two sets at 90$ each and 2 receivers at 40$each. 260$ total. That's pretty cheap for the functionality and convenience you get.

Those are much better locations. My 2020 were too low.

Only negative I could see were the ones mounted on the back, someone ? could ? step on them if they were not paying attention getting on/off the boat.

Supra option gives you 2 per side and 2 transom, 4 phender pins and 1 go pro mount.

Agreed. There's a little spray that comes up from the swim step right in front of the gopro mount. Makes that location essentially useless. I'm going to get another set and mount them higher.

The GoPro mounts are more useful in my opinion than the phender mount locations, but I think its all or nothing, don't think you can get just the GoPro mounts on the transom from the factory.I feel the opposite. The fender mounts are perfect for the height of the docks around here. A lot will depend on how tall your docks are where you boat.

But to answer Larry's question, yes they're worth it.

No issues that I have seen. I do use thicker soft rope to tie them but honestly I hadn’t even thought of that.

I was worried how it would look going through the gator step but convinced myself I could get custom gator step pieces if I hated it and I am so used to it now that I don’t even notice them unless they are in use. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200922/1949e34ad2f25146f5b7475e9a619944.jpg

This look good through the gatorstep.

If the rope rubs, I will add a piece of clear bra in that area.

I'm looking at adding these when my Makai comes in. I see both 3/8" and 1/2" options. What did you all use? Was the retrofit easy to do other than puckering up while drilling?

I believe Supra uses the 3/8” variety, I will see my boat by Wednesday and I can verify.
