I can’t remember the brand but a friend had some ballast bags that had sort of like an air core vent when you could push down on a valve stem and it would vent the bags rather than have to unscrew a cap. Does anyone know if such a vent exists for Fat Sacs or Wakemakers type bags?

Haven't seen push in ones but flyhigh has one that you only have to unscrew a 1/4 turn or so to vent

I have those already. Really wished I could find the push style as it was really nice and easy when we would fill ballast of a buddies boat.

The sumo max bags have that valve your talking about. They work with that yellow and black sumo pump that is super fast.

It is called the Sumo Link fitting.

It was super easy burping them and letting the air out. I had them in my old boat. Not sure if they make an attachment or converter to that.

This may be it. https://www.wakemakers.com/launch-pad-link-pump-thread-adapter.html

I would think this would work just as easy.

Yes that's it! Anyone know if you can buy just the sumo link fitting?

Hmm I may have to try that one. So you just twist it and it vents?

I've used these (that I mentioned earlier)
https://www.wakemakers.com/fly-high-pro-x-series-fitting-w749.html

However you shouldn't have to burp the bags every time, why not put in permanent venting lines so you don't have to?

I do plan to add a permanent vent but was just looking for something to hold me over. I’ll just buy the tubing and do the vent like others have done. Tired of burping these things lol.

I reached out to my buddy and it wasn’t his boat that had the push style. I remember now and it was from the Axis A22 I demoed that had the optional plug and play rear locker bags. Pretty sure they were Sumo.

Edit - yup just checked my old demo ride video and see around he 6:45 mark where I burped them. It’s a nice vent if you don’t have overflow tubing vents.

I hear you on constantly burping air from my WM ExactFits on the first fill of the day. The WM plugs are kinda a pain in the butt to do my hand too.

I have thought about running a plastic ball valve similar to the following in all honesty to make it easier!

I have the WM exact fit too. How are you burping the bags? Mine just have the auto vents that work until the bag fills to a certain point then they start overflowing out the side with an air bubble at the top of the bag. I don't know why they wouldn't either put the overflow ports more in the middle of the bag at the highest point when filled or just put manual vents in from the factory. How are the manual vents installed aftermarket?

1) My 2019 have 3 plugs in the bottom of the bag(2 x Pump Fill\Empty and 1 x overflow with sensor in it)
2) I have 3 x with the diaphrams tha slowly let air out at the back of bag and top of bag
3) There is a 4th plug that I can unscrew to manually burp the big pocket of air that happen on first fill everytime.

Make sense?

The 2018 dont have the sensors in them. Mine have 2 fill drain ports on the bottom and 2 overflow ports on top. No burp valve. Anyway to add one?

Doesn't the air escape through the top valves\hose out the side of the boat?

In theory. It works until the top of the bag gets higher than the valves then it traps air. Needs a valve in the center of the bag to vent fully

I'm in same boat as Surgical. Will the wakemakers air release plug help?

I was going to add 2 to bow bag, 2 to each enzo bag.
