View Full Version : Pull out heater hose upgrade

My 2020 Mojo pull out heater ducts didn’t make it one summer. The unreasonably thin membrane rubbed through over the spiral wire and now they are leaking air out the hose. SC will only replace it with the same paper thin membrane that it left the factory with. The hose on my 2008 Mastercraft is still perfectly intact and we use it all the time.

Has anybody else experienced this and what product did you use to upgrade from factory?

I've used these people before.

Thanks Zabooda.

Do these come with a thicker membrane than the OE tubes and do they attach to the heater with no modifications? The site doesn’t list any dimensions.

Look into RV sewer hose. It's a lot heavier duty and you can get a 25' roll from Walmart for like $10

Heatercraft is the OEM so i'd wager they are the same paper thin crap.
Mastercraft uses Maradyne

I just ordered maradyne stuff to add a heater o my boat so I can tell you in a few days when it gets here.

I looked into this for my Mojo, but then was concerned about how it would work. The hose has to able to collapse into that small space. A thicker hose might not and cause the vent to pop out all the time. My hose was torn at the end where it attached to the vent. I just cut the torn part and reattached it.

Never had an issue with mine and we use them often, however, I found some thicker mil hose awhile back, let me see if I can find it again

I have both tears and it’s worn over the spiral wires. I live in northern Canada so these are a heavy use item.

Thanks for all the replies. Lots of good leads. I let you know how I make out.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200902/93518e473dcd68413ebf1e96cccb7464.jpg

Is 8’ long enough? Have a 2017 mojo with heater hoses

To much and it doesn't all fit inside the tube, you probably need 4 or 5 feet per hose.

thanks guys, this is great stuff.
now i won't stress about the kids using the heater tubes.

Mine were replaced last fall under warranty. The replacement tubes seems to be made with a higher quality material. Time will tell but they are much better than the OEM ones.

Springman: the length is critical. Mine barely fit back under the seat. We have found with the OEM tubes, that if you wait a bit for the tubes to cool down they are easier to get back into the holes. I guess that the expansion when they’re warm makes them just a bit too big to pack into the receptacle/hole.

Tommy2slow or anyone else do you know if the new 2021 have changed vs the 2020 or older ones? Glad they warrantied the hoses I would hope that they just had a bad run of hoses and the one they replaced yours with under warranty is more indicative of the new OEM hoses?

Hi Chuds. I have not seen what Moomba is using for hot tubes on the 2021’s. Perhaps one of the members who has taken delivery of their boat could chime in on what they think of the tubes installed this year.

No worries, I mean worse case I swap them out after they get thrashed and it is good to know you can get replacements and have a few options. Come on open water!
