All,

I am looking to replace the Kenwood speakers on my 2006 LSV with Polks. The Kenwoods don't sound too great and they have foam surrounds so they won't last too long either. I'm a big fan of Polks - they sound great and are reasonably priced. Circuit City has a killer deal on the 5-1/4" Polk db525 right now (see circuitcity.com). They are on sale for $70 AND you get the second pair for 1/2 price, so total for two pairs is $105. Problem is that I need three pairs. This is where you come in. I am looking for someone who is also interested in replacing their speakers with these Polks. We can buy 6 pairs for a total of $315, so we would each get three pairs for $157.50. That's pretty hard to beat for Polk quality and sound.

These are marine certified speakers with rubber surrounds. Retail on them is $109.95, and Circuit City usually sells them for $90. Click the link below to read about them and be sure to check out the customer reviews if you are not familiar with Polk Audio:

I'd prefer to find someone local (Portland area) who is willing to meet me at a Circuit City and make the purchase together.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Al

They should be exactly the same as the 2006, although I can't swear to that.

Sorry all, the speakers are 6-1/2" after all. I guess they measure by mounting hole spacing and not the diameter of the woofer.

So please ignore this post.

Thanks,

Al

Are the Polk audios DB 650's direct replacements for the stock Kenwoods that come with the 2007 Mobius LSV ?
In other words can I take out my stock Kenwoods and pop in the 650's without any drilling ?
Anyone ?
Oh and on a side note would simply adding a Clarion 4 channel amp make a BIG DIFFERENCE keeping the stock Kenwood head unit ?

ok 66 dollars each pair shipped with a one year over the counter warranty... you have problems within the first year ship them back and you will receive a new pair.....

Ok thanks for the pricing - just wanting to know if they will be direct replacements for the stock Kenwoods that I will be taking out - I would rather not do any drilling ?

ATLoutbackV, will call you tomorrow, but to the point these Polks will fit right in? How about a power option, somebody said earlier that an amp with the stock head made a big difference. Would like to be able to keep building as time goes on.

I don't think anyone has answered this yet so I'll chime in. I replaced my stock Kenwoods with the Polks and I did need to redrill the holes. When you remove the Kenwoods, it's hard to see where the holes were since you are looking at carpet, plus I believe the Kenwoods had three mounting holes whereas the Polks had 4, so they don't all line up.

Hope that helps.

Any ideas on a sub for my outback, I have the heaters, would I be able to undo the hose at the drivers feet and shift the heater over then put the sub up on the far outside?
