I'm 5'10" 250, can I ride this hyperlite 4'6" wakesurf board?

I ask since if I get the 4'6", my gf can also ride.. yet it might be too small for me perhaps?
(the 5'2" version is surely better for me, yet she definitely can't ride that as easily)

Then again I see some bigger guys riding small boards, doing tricks, etc. I'm confused.

I should also add the 4'6" board start 180lb max... though not sure where numbers come from. That and perhaps at 125lbs the 4'6" is maybe even too much for my girlfriend..? (vs her getting a 4'2")

OK, that's 54". I think you should be able to ride it. Look at Boardco. They have size to weight limits posted.


Ooops, no. Looks like to small. This is from them:

"SIZING

53" x 21" x .75" - 10 Liter Volume = For Riders 120 - 185 lbs.
57" x 21.5" x 1" - 15 Liter Volume = For Riders 165 - 250 lbs"

Board size does matter. Better to have each your own board based on your size to enhance the experience.

we have an inland surfer 4-skim. old board from 2008. 4ft 6inch and pretty narrow. have had several in the 250 range ride it well. im 220 and can ride it 4 days.....

you will likely be more comfortable on the larger but with a good wave and some skills a short board is not tough.

For your size, you probably don't want to go under a board 5 feet in length. The reason is a shorter board just doesn't have the volume for your size/weight. If you get a bigger board that can accommodate you, then you can ride it, and your girlfriend can learn to use it.

But it you get a smaller board that can't handle your weight, then only your girlfriend can use it. I'd err on the side of getting a bigger board that can comfortably hold your size if I was in your position.

I'm 5'9 & 240#s, so in a similar boat as you:-D. Anything is rideable, but it will wear you out quickly. Get a minimum 140, preferably 145 -150. (52 inch is 135) to be comfortable.

Good points made - do you want to ride it and have fun or work to ride it? I'm 6'3 215 and will never buy a board less than 5'. That seems to be where the fun wears off and the work begins.

I have a hyperlite time machine and its super easy to ride. Im 6'0 235 and it carries me no problem. Its more surf style tho. So depending on what you're trying to do.
