So I guess I get to start the July thread. Zandar was off on some adventure with his little girlfriend, so Zayla had the boat to herself for the weekend. Zayla is 5 and started kneeboarding last year. She is going to try to surpass her brother on the wakeboard by the time she is 6. Unfortunately I only had the GoPro on the tower so the footage is not zoomed in at all.

So, YouTube blocked the video due to a copyright on the song. I can't figure out how to delete the post, so I'll just repeat it with a (hopefully) non copyrighted video as soon as i can

Hanging down on a private lake in Alabama. We took off in our motor home and the day we left we sold our Washington state home in 3 hours, asking price, no contigency and no inspection repairs. We are heading to the Branson/Springfield area tomorrow and getting with a builder. We plan to checkout Table Rock lake by boat one of the days. It's been a fun trip and kept ourselves isolated most of the time. The private lake helped.

Yes - congrats! We are heading east tomorrow for 5 days. Was going to offer a pull behind the MobV if you're around but clearly that's not the case. The wind forecast is not in our favor by the looks of it...

Took my son in law and friends out into downtown Portland on Sunday. Crazy traffic on a narrow river (Willamette) with kayaks, SUPs, and other boats on top of each other all afternoon. Didn't even try to pull out a board. Just floated with a few cold ones, tunes and watched the chaos unfold.

Captain's Log Day 1
So far the trip is not starting out too well. This is the third year in a row we've had a blow out on this #@$%& stretch of road. The next day was spent raising hell at the tire shop, buying two new heavily discounted tires and a spare. Luckily I have cheap labor.

https://i.imgur.com/D2GKesH.jpg

Day 1 continued - finally setup at camp and on the water for a night run. Love it out here.
https://i.imgur.com/AcjSsjo.jpg

Day 2 was killed by 20mph hour winds resulting in a shortage of beer, vodka and later whiskey.

Day 3
Everyone just seems to get along on the water. My 6'5" baby boy and his little big sister.
https://i.imgur.com/c2GaebS.jpg

Day 4
Last runs before the wind is going to pick up. My kids like to ride surfboards on the long rope at about 17-18mph.
https://i.imgur.com/Xqil6ph.jpg

End of the day we got off the water and into the marina in time before the nasty winds returned but not everyone did. Saw the sheriff pulling in a swamped sailboat. Beautiful little wooden boat. We motored over and met them at the dock, then spent the next hour using my handheld ballast pump to help get his boat above the water so he could get it onto his trailer. I felt bad for the poor old guy and his son, bad enough I couldn't take any pictures to add insult to their injury... Always remember, No man left behind.

I had to work last Saturday so my wife invited a couple girlfriends to the lake for the day. She’s been hesitant to take the boat out without me but I’ve been encouraging her because she is more competent at boating/driving than many men. I told her if she can’t get it back on the lift no worries, just tie up to the side of the dock and I’ll put it on the lift when I get there after work.

Well, she finally did it (and got it back on the lift her 2nd try with her girlfriends spotting her)!!! She was very proud of herself and I’m proud of her. Here’s a pic of the captain that her friend sent me just after getting on the lift:

Sunday we went out for an evening cruise and I had the opportunity to earn some good boater karma (note: not a beer gut, there’s finally a bun in the oven after 2 years of trying!!!):

Solid work by your wife and congrats on the pregnancy! I was so proud of my wife a couple weeks ago at a busy ramp when she backed the trailer in like a champ. We were out of there in 20 seconds and she stops halfway up to politely chew out a group that was wiping down on the ramp. Fast forward to this past weekend and she was all over the place like a complete rookie.

That’s awesome! Before we had the boat on the lift at the lakehouse mine would always back the trailer too. She did it in a painfully slow manor, but seldom had to pull back forward for another go at it. It was literally like the hare vs tortoise on the busy boat ramp with the pressure on hahaha

Did some surfing this weekend and thanks to two other boats not paying attention my surfboard suffered some damage. Did some googling and it sounds like my best bet is to use some two part epoxy and dress it up with some wet sanding.. Anyone else try this and have any pointers?

You don't have to keep the board in the sun, just give it a few days to dry out before applying the repair.

Phix Doctor has some youtube vids that walk you through the entire process as well.

I know!! Lol I took that pick when I was leaving the house for work. Not gonna lie, the thought of calling in sick was looming large in my head.

Actually, most mornings and evenings look like this. The caveat is that we only have about for months of warm weather up here.

Fortunately no one was surfing at the time. Was putting along to our swim spot and there was a boat behind me pulling a tuber closing in quick and a second boat to my right starting to make a turn towards me.. To my left was a point that gets shallow so I rolled onto the the throttle to get out ahead and away from them, hit a wave, the board bounced and the wind caught it flipping it up into the windshield. Crappy situation all around but no one was hurt and no serious damage to anything other than the board so I'll take it. Lake has been filled with what seems like first time boaters, especially from all of the stories from the boat ramp.

It wasn't until after they flung it into the boat that we figured out it was dead. I was ready to sink them after that little stunt but it was my name on the ski's rental contract...

I wish the pic was from the other side of the boat so you could see the wave, but still a pretty cool shot.

Awesome shot, looks like you got the drone really dialed in.

This belongs on a brochure [emoji1430][emoji1430]

Cody's drone footage had a strange hue to it.

Do you color correct in post-processing or is it a physical filter on the lens?

This shot is no filter and post editing. Straight from the drone to the forum lol. It came out really good though.

I tend to overdue it with my lightroom editing haha! I need to stay more natural because it looks better.
In my defense, our day was very dark and cloudy with no sun!

I've seen other folks footage with the same hue so I figured maybe it was just a default setting.

Let me guess, I know this game. Tie the other end of the rope to the dock and put the boat in gear, instant tight rope. Cross and Whoever falls has to gulp down a beer. The person in the water didn't make it all the way. Fun times!!

We are on a peninsula so sun sets across the street. We should have some killer sunrises off the deck though!

Man, at 14:14 when everyone got dumped in the boat....that was funny as hell. Was she turning around to get a rider? If so you need to teach her to slow down and idle back:) That was funny.

No our friends kids wanted to go fast and do turns, no boats on the water so not a big deal. The gal on the ground was laughing so hard she couldn't get up.

I took the hardest fall of my 17 year wakeboarding career the day before. I am getting too old for this s#!$

Man that is awesome!! Congrats!! I can't wait for my little ones to be old enough to surf and wakeboard!!

As far as falling on a wakeboard I hear ya. I think one day wakeboarding will be the kind of thing where once a year I get up and go wake to wake just to prove to my self I still can and check it off the list for the year and then just surf! Not sure what year that will be but soreness lingers longer each year LOL! My mom does the same thing with Slalom Skiing and this year she turned 58.

One of the neighbors at the condo we stayed at snapped this shot of us coming in and sent it to me. They were good people but then again they were from Texas.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200801/086b4af87035544213864e00a7594cf6.jpg
Here we are ready to drop the trash and head out. Made it back safely this evening. Always sad when vacation ends.
