Hey Everyone,

My original in boat speakers are feeling a little tired, so I am looking to swap them out. I am not overly knowledgeable when it comes to audio equipment but I am looking for some guidance in installing them.

07 LSV with Roswell tower speaker bar is my original set up, and I have all original speakers.
New install speakers are Kicker KM 6130 (purchased for my old boat, but sold before install)

Is it a matter of take out, attach leads and re-install?
Do I have to pre-drill holes or just use the screws? not sure what the backing is?
Do I have to adjust the amp?

Anything else?

I was thinking of getting one of our audio business to do it, but if it is fairly easy, I might tackle it myself.

Thanks

Richard

Pretty easy to do it just like you said.

I’d also put in some pillow fill behind the speakers going into the tower cans to help them produce more bass.

Thanks Stazi for the help. Might be the easiest mod I have ever done in the boat. The bow speakers needed a bit of enlarging but the rest were super easy.
Remove, connect leads, pre-drill, screws. Done!!!

Just ordered 4 more for my tower. Hope that goes just as easy.

Richard.

Hey Everyone,

Installed new speakers in the boat. Very easy install. However, on the water Saturday, there was static when I pushed the drain on the middle ballast bag. Only the middle. No static on fill or drain any of the other bags.

I double checked all the wires to my amps, head unit and all the ballast fuses. Nothing loose or off.

Thoughts?

Bad ground on that drain pump

How would I check that?

Find the connector to that pump and see if it’s corroded. Could be a bad ground within the pump motor itself.

Stazi.

Thank you so much for all this help. I will check it out this week to see if I can find it. Sticking my head inside the ski locker is going to be an interesting picture!!!
