I wish I could get a surf wave like that on my Max! I just can't lose that valuable storage under the seats. I wonder what it would be like if I just used the rear 1200 lb bags on that wakemakers upgrade kit?

Anyway, Zandar is finally looking comfortable again on his wakeboard. This morning we did 2 hours of hard core training using the BB Talkin communication helmet. This thing works great! He is landing backside 180s to blind from inside out. Hasn't quite landed one wake to wake yet. Then in the afternoon we went out for a pure fun session with one of his buddies. That's when he finally started looking comfortable on his board again. Hope you all don't mind me posting so many videos of him.

Love the gas cans on the the platform! Reminds of the times I’d strap a charcoal grill to my outback v’s platform.

It's funny you said that we figured we would need it since we were heading down the lake for the whole day. I put the 10 gal in and later in the evening we were running on empty coming back. I REALLY started to worry we weren't going to make it back. We came around the bend to where we could see the boat launch so i breathed a huge sigh of relief......only to run out of gas about 1/4 mile away :( Haha

Finally out of hibernation, dust blown off, little wash down.
Exile cabin amp fixed and tuned - great customer service from the Exile guys once again.
Board pockets getting designed on bimini - finally, been wanting to do this for years.
Rear compartment carpet coming out and hydro turf going in - again, wanting for years.

This whole quarantine thing is helping get projects done.

Still debating on the fender/steps repainting to black. Kinda like I've been debating stripping the MobiusV and going naked for years. LOL

Hopefully we'll get more than time on the water this summer compared to just 20 hours last year...

You could use lead bags in the midship if you need the space. The WM rear bags for the Max are actually more than 1,200 lbs I believe. They are the same bags used on the Makai kit and those are -1,345 lbs each rear bag IIRC. When you go on their site and option a 2020 Max for rear upgrade it doesn’t include the midship bags for whatever reason (my guess is they figure 2020 Max owners opted for the stock 500 lb midship bags). I know their image for the 4 bags says 1,200 lb rear bags but when I had to have mine replaced because they made them the wrong size (too short) I got new bags and on the box it said 1,350 lb bags or whatever on the box label. If you go in their site and option a Makai which uses the same bags you’ll see it also say they will be 1,345 lbs each side.

Back to the midship bags and storage space, we have moved everything to under the helm and OB storage and were surprised how much crap you can cram in there. I though we would miss the storage space too but so far we still have room and you can always stuff things in there until you want to fill ballast. The rear lockers still have plenty of room on top of the larger Wakemakers bags. I say go for it!!

So finally got some time to get the boat a little closer to dialed in or at least some great rides tonight. And who doesn’t like Thursday night rides. We ran autowake the full time surfing and wakeboarding and it did it’s job pretty well with only 2 guys and 2 kids in the boat. It still wanted more rear weight (~300# lead back there right now, but it’s an awesome wake without it. Nailed the wave transfer for a good solid 2 seconds. Need my other fins in as my board kept slipping outa my heels. Wake is super rampy even only at 50% amplitude and clean. Ready to get back out there.

Not the bet pic but a super fun night.!

Forgot to post an update but this year we no longer are storing outside! Our new storage unit was completed at the beginning of the month. It's 1.5 hour drive from my house but only 5 mins to 3 different boat launches at one of our favorite lakes. It's a 14' x 40' enclosed unit with 12' x 14' roll-up door and has power for onboard charger and timer controlled lighting. Offers plenty of room around the boat for cleaning and working on it. I plan to add some storage racks and shelves later on but for now we just took a small aluminum rack down there to keep the wet stuff hung from a day on the water.

Thanks. About the only original thing left on this boat is the gel coat. It got a new engine in 2008 after being improperly winterized. Full ballast system in 2010, then revised a couple times since. I’m on the 3rd version of the stereo. Interior, carpet, and a bunch of other updates done around 2013. It has a gold metal flake in the yellow which definitely helps it pop.

I’ve owned it since 2006 and it’s always been stored under a carport and then in a garage the last 3 years. Would you believe I’ve only waxed it 2-3 times ever...

So jealous of the indoor storage Mr Hackenslash. On a side note, if you have to die and come back as someone else, you want to come back as Zandar. Yesterday wasn't a good day for wakeboard training so we filled all the ballasts to 100 and did some surfing. He was behind the boat for a bit more than an hour, falling a few times. I figure he was surfing for 45 minutes at 10.7mph. He may have surfed for 6 miles total.

I decided to see what AutoWake would look like with the WM upgrade. Gotta say it was way better than our first few experiences with AutoWake on stock ballast! Settings for regular side was default 9 degree pitch and -3 roll. If my legs weren't already jelly from surfing earlier I would have jumped on to try out the wave. I think part of the way I forgot to raise the center plate some too so this is looking pretty promising to use now. Going to for sure try it out next time!

He started swimming lessons at 6 weeks of age. We live on eastern Long Island New York so I always thought respect for, and comfort in the water were important. The boy is about 60% sea monster.

Unfortunately we have no fresh water any where near us to ride in, so salt is what we have. Love salt water actually, but the boat maintenance it creates is a nuisance to say the least.

On a side note, that's one sweet looking ride Isaguel :)

Some video footage from yesterday. Unfortunately the water was just a washing machine from all the boat traffic. We have a house rented for the end of next month and I can't wait because we will be down there mid week and should get some nice glassy conditions early in the morning. Still had a blast learning to wakesurf. I practiced for a while until my legs had completely turned to jello and shaking on their own :D

Yep. I'm putting it in a 3rd stall with a standard 9 ft wide door, which with trim and weatherstripping is <8' 11". So I have to pull out the trailer guide posts. ALso an easy pull, just loosen two set screws and pull out easy. Now need more nice weather days.

No, not at all. Supra uses this new "cool touch" vinyl. I thought it was a gimmick, but I sat in a black interior one that was sitting in the sun and it was indeed cool to the touch. It works, I just question how it will hold up to heavy use. The tan interior does not get hot at all, same with the gator step, I thought it would get hot but it does not, its a foamy thing that does not hold heat and is comfy to walk on.

This is a video of my son Miguel having completed his first 360. Needless to say we all went bananas. He's 12 and had been trying all last year, kept making the turn but sliding off back of wave. On Tuesday he was bound and determined to get it done, kept trying over and over again and getting just so close until he nailed it.

Nice boat! Love the color scheme. Of course I am partial to red, white, and black. [emoji12]. There are a ton of opinions on Autowake, but I love it. Just remember to shift your lead weight to the areas your ballast are at 100% so it doesn’t drain as much weight from the other zones. No replacement for displacement.

Ok last addition to the boat for now anyways. Gatorstep took my rough templates and a little back and forth and we made it look factory. No more slipping using the bow ladder. Very happy with the results

I would think they would be able to do that pretty easy and would save a lot time. Shipping from Oregon to Oklahoma back and forth a few times took weeks, but worth it.

Ok so still learning but found out the weirdest thing tonight or I thought so anyways. 2 weeks ago 1 adults and 2 extra kids so we’re taking 120# ish autowake surfing threw an impressive wake. Tonight no kids 1 adult it was so so and washy. Over rode it and played with some weight. More setting it up manual listing and still surf tab. Got a better wave than auto was putting out. Still bugged me that if we increased bow weight past 25% we lost push[emoji848]. Finally said what would it do if we went full or almost full 80% now and non surf side then 100% surf side[emoji2369]. The results were night and day different. I tested the push and could recover 15-20Ft back without problems. Where previously the pocket was short. So recorded the autowake numbers and programmed them in we’ll see how it will react next time to see if it can recreate our awesome wave.

Never seen a hull react this way but I think I like it & the more i figure out what it wants and doesn’t want the easier it will be.

Now wakeboarding I set autowake amplitude at 50% and let it rip. Does very well I think!

Here’s a few pics of the goofy wave difference before and after on windy water

Got invited by one of Zandar's coaches to Lake Wesserunsett in Maine for the weekend. We had a great time there. Stayed in a cabin with the boat in the backyard. We were able to do multiple sets per day, return to the dock for lunch, back in the boat etc. Anyway the highlight was Zandar's coaching getting enough confidence into him to try a Mexican Backroll. He landed on his back first try. Second try he got about 80% of the way around!!! Unfortunately he twisted his ankle pretty bad on the (crash) landing and will need a few days to recover. He has never been hurt before, so this is a new thing for him to sit back and heal. Anyway here it is, a 10 year old attempting to go upside down behind a boat.

Easy there mate. Isn't it winter there?

A late addition to June - not real exciting as our weather isn't cooperating. Finally got my bimini board pockets done. Such a huge improvement. One is slightly deeper for a thicker board - hoping a kneeboard would fit up there but nope. If you've ever been considering doing something like this I would highly recommend it.

As you can see the iffy weather turned to crap on our maiden voyage. We pulled up to a marina and hit the cantina for some cervezas and salsa. Kinda funny going past the sailboat - full timer. Had a couple outboards hanging off it, a bike, some tomato plants and of course about 15 pot plants growing. LOL - not quite sure how the law would regulate that with you living on the water.

The electric fence around the perimeter of the dock to keep sea lions off was interesting/intimidating too.

Love the "This is my happy place" sticker.
Gunna have to copy that!
Not much else to do during Winter here, oh and the excitement of another lockdown in Victoria (in Australia).
Enjoy the sunshine, only only 4 months to go.......
Cheers BruceR, Melb AUS.
