View Full Version : Right Side Rear Brake Smoking — help diagnose please

There is white smoke coming from the right rear wheel. I haven’t noticed the brakes not working properly. After checking the fluid, it was very low... and I have attached pics of what it looks like behind the wheel which doesn’t good good at all. It’s a 2015 Boatmate with Vault system.

Seized brake caliper most likely. On my 2008 boatmate seemed like I had to replace a stuck caliper every 2-3 years. It’s a easy job, no different than changing one on a car except the bleeding process (you use a screwdriver to pump the master cylinder under the tongue).

I second this. Had this happen on my 2008 boatmate trailer. If you can jack it up I would say do that and see how easy it is to spin the wheel by hand and check for bearing play. If it gets too hot it could melt the seats for the wheel bearings and then you have a whole new set of issues
