Well my 'Rona check hit my account this morning....

Does anyone know if Wakemakers, Evo, BuyWake or others are having a stimulus sale??

Do I really NEED anything? No.

Is this cash burning a hole in my pocket? Yes.

[emoji383][emoji389][emoji389][emoji389]

Has anyone tried the 'Joystick' bungee surf rope?

Looks intriguing, no handle to hurt yourself with and a slight tug sends the rope back into the boat. (yes, the joystick kinda looks like a dildo...function over form [emoji2369])

Interesting. I think Id pass tho, and get a new board, or something else. For surfing, the rope is way down the pecking order for me.

I guess I've run out of things to get for the boat.

Maybe a comp vest or something.

I'd love to get a drone like yours but I just got a new HERO8 Black last week so I'm gonna wait a bit on the drone.

at $130 for the rope, i think i will pass. and i don't think i will get the stimulus check. though i should consider taking from my kids who were mostly dependent on me, but still filed/claimed themselves, so I should get some part of theirs, right?

i would like a new board though.

No check for us either i don't think. We have a couple of grand for tax refunds but not spending a dime of that in this uncertain economy and not sure what our job futures will look like. Hopefully this whole virus thing goes away by summer.

That rope is cool in theory...but DAYUM I just can't swallow that kind of price for a surf rope!

I'm contemplating spending either $150 for Mastercraft LED docking lights to put into my rub rail. Looks awesome with the wide, boxy bow on the Max IMO...

https://i.imgur.com/IMWmydK.jpg

Or spend $120 for Ecodome white with chrome outline registration numbers to replace my flat chrome numbers. To me these look much nicer and high end than the domedletters. I may also look into buying some Chaos fins this season but not sure which ones for my Doomswell Nubstep.

I'm just busting your balls...a little. I have lots of buddies that swear by their Phase 5 and I have a Matrix for a skim and the Scamp for my kids.

Soulcraft wise, I have 3 on board. My son and wife ride the Super AV and I originally bought the Vodoo years back but last year I bought the Jordi Pro and the Vodoo doesn't seemuch action any longer. On all the Soulcrafts I have Futures fins...Futures VII BlackStixx 3.0 and Futures Blackstixx Rob Machado.

Ha - sorry, but those are the stories you never want to hear! I put a larger key float on my GoPro suction mount. Hasn't joined Davy Jone's locker yet after years of use and abuse.

I need a strategy to get my kids to spend their stimulus checks on me.

"Hey, didn't you want a new surfboard?"
"Have you ever wanted to try some lead ballast? I bet you'd be even better."
"You know you could hear your favorite songs a lot better if the boat had an FAE."

I second the go pro+ membership. I did it for one month, bought tons of their accessories and then canceled.

I’ve been blowing too much money building out my slip.... just yesterday added this little fridge (sorry for the snapchat screen shot) so I no longer have to bring the drinks, fruit, popsicles etc). Next up, moving my Hydrohoist box so I can put in a little table and chairs.

If I ever have to use it for home defense, I don't want the rounds ending up in my neighbor's house. Plus 458 is optimized for about a 9.5" barrel (I need to find that reference again and bookmark it). Beowulf is better for 16"+ from what I've read.

That makes total sense, Im planning on this build being a long barreled build. I’m thinking this will be my new hog gun. Your articles and this one (below) all sound on point for the 458 best short barrel caliber and the 50 has better ballistics out of a longer barrel.

Beg borrow buy beer etc, for use on your buddy’s press, buying ammo for any of these three calibers suck...

https://thebiggamehuntingblog.com/450-bushmaster-vs-458-socom-vs-50-beowulf/I don't hunt, so this is all for fun/target/home defense.

I was up til 3am last night looking at reloading crap. The press I'd want is sold out everywhere. But yeah the cost of ammo, even reloading, is pretty prohibitive for those calibers.

That's why I'm considering doing it in 300 blackout, because I already have a 300 precision rifle so I'll be making ammo for that. Once I load 1000 rds I'll have paid for the press, etc.

First pic is cost comparison for 300blk, 2nd is for 458 SOCOM. Reloading, 458 is still more than double the cost of 300blk.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200420/457640d4a3b6e9f49efa78a3347b3c25.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200420/190c47eba102a66cc86cc62b7116b15d.jpg

Probably a difficult time to buy a press too....What press are you looking at?

I have home defense magazines preloaded with super destructo manufactured ammo.

Lee’s a great place to start. I started with pretty much that same setup. I quickly out grew the single stage, I’ve got three kids and they race to see who can blast something quicker. I quickly went quantity over quality... I also realized I’m not the type to shoot 10 rounds make a minuscule adjust then make 10 more bullets and so on. Totally depends on how much you plan to shoot. Don’t be scared by the progressive setups, you set each stage one step at a time. Manuals / books, internet how to’s pretty much cover just about everything you need to know. I went the Hornady LNL route their customer support is fantastic. I’ve called them a few times and have had to have the conversation where I began with saying “I don’t know how I managed to do this but.....please help.” They’ve sent me free replacement parts more than once.

Last time I checked they were running around the 500 dollar mark. What I didn’t realize when I started this endeavor was all the other little crap I would need, would run me another 500 bucks ish....which you’ll end up buying for either single stage or progressive press. Best advice I could give is see if you can borrow your buddies setup to see if you like it. I reload because I love shooting, but I love boating more. So for me I bang out a bunch of ammo during the winter and then put it away to make way for the summer activities.

seeing you guys talking about reloading brings some memories. I think i have not loaded for almost 10 years! i have a RCBS single stage. i think the scale was a Lee digital auto dispenser. i used to like playing with the precise loads and the differences a few grains would make. i never did much with handgun, though is i did i would certain use a mutli stage. if i did long gun for volume, i would go multi also. used to shoot lots of trap, so that was the bulk of loading. 200 -500 rd a week, depending on comps etc.

my fav load at the end was a 454 casull in TC encore (hand canon)

Friends use the bungee rope to help new riders stay in the pocket a bit better vs having slack or coiling rope in there hands, which isn't very safe. Works well for that.

For all the dads with littles out there, Billabong dropped a pretty dope collab with Dr. Suess.

The boardshorts are actually made from recycled plastic. (To save the Truffula trees [emoji6])

I got some for me and my toddler (they have 2T & up), stoked to get some fresh gear for my grom. We've been working on the surf balance board inside [emoji41]

So for me I bang out a bunch of ammo during the winter and then put it away to make way for the summer activities.Progressing on the pistol. Just missing the BCG and barrel.

Decided to go with the Lee turret press, I put together my own setup rather than buy a kit (there were things I wanted that the kits didn't have, and things the kits have that I didn't want). It should be here tomorrow. In the meantime, I bought a tumbler and got started prepping cases and converting 223 to 300 blackout. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200503/114ee8c8d97c30e1671fd92a548a0082.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200503/1618e57cb8d99bdf30b6131d7794c084.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200503/a8da1fab6b93abc43b3ce97be02480d0.jpg
