That’s the overflow sensor. It cuts off the pumps automatically when the bags get too full.

I am not an expert but that sensor just clips around the hose. You can move it as close to the vent as you would like if you have enough wire and a place for it.

It’s glued to a column of pipe too—you need to add some hose at the bottom of the pipe between it and the bag outlet in order to raise the whole column.
That’s how I did it. Easy peasy.

Interesting, I can see the pipe now that I look closer. The sensor is just clipped around the hose on my SE.
