Does anyone have the ANT Wireless Stereo Remote connected to their Fusion head unit?

https://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/remote-controls/ms-arx70b

Thoughts on how well it works / doesn't work?

Does it automatically connect when the head unit is powered on?

I didn't order the transom remote option ($280 USD), but for $74 CAD it doesn't seem to be a bad purchase especially given the option that it can be mounted anywhere in the boat.

I understand I'm limited to volume up/down, play/pause and skip track, but that is all I would want the remote to do.

I had the same challenge...boat didn't come with transom remote and didn't want to spend $$$ or drill holes to mount one. I got a ANT wireless remote last year and mounted it on the back of the boat. It works great. Used it all last season with no issues

Fantastic.

I'm not sure if it connects via bluetooth or it's own wifi... but once paired I assume it doesn't effect your phones connectivity and/or the Fusion Link app?

It pairs via Bluetooth. I can still use my phone with bluetooth at the same time to play my favorite music...and control volume

That's tempting to get one to have a remote on the observers seat as well at that price.

That was my thoughts. I don't really need one on the transom, but it would be nice for another person in the boat to be able to control the volume and music.

By the way the $74.00 I mentioned was on Amazon Canada. Amazon US offers the black for $49.99 and the white for $46.90:

Perfect!

Now I'm wondering if it is possible to have multiple remotes connected to the head unit (bow, cabin & transom) as the wife moves around throughout the boat depending on the sun.

Not sure how big it is but It would be really cool if you could secure it to your life jacket. Wonder what the range is and if it would re sync automatically when you went out of range. Almost would prefer to have something like that on my vest then a remote on my wrist.

One of the reviews said after 5 remotes it gets a little dicey. The puck attaches to a base so you can easily remove the puck and take it with you wherever you are on the boat. Definitely picking one up myself.

Thanks for the idea! I think I might snag one for the Observer's position.

I like the no drilling, no wires part. It says it runs on a watch battery for almost 3 years.

It’s supposed to support multiple remotes. I plan on getting a second one for the up front seats this season. Hadn’t thought about attaching it to a life jacket. Might be kinda neat.

Glad i stumbled on this thread, these look awesome. We are ordering a 2021 Craz and will grab one of these for the observer side. Just out of curiosity, I believe the new Fusion head units have a usb you can use to connect your phone as well as bluetooth. Correct? It must come out of the back of the unit?

Your Craz should come with a USB and Aux input on the dash, not sure what it looks like behind it. We use bluetooth on it mainly.

I have this in another thread but just so it is in one place, you can also use that remote when your surfing. I attached it to a wrist strap.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200804/1ceb89a0a0b27d3dbf45fce94c9a4c67.jpg

I literally had a cheap go pro strap laying around that I cut and then filed the camera attachment off and then used 3m double sided tape to hold it on. I used double sided tape so I can still change the battery. It has held on so far and is pretty solid.

Just look for a strap that has a flat surface you can mount it to and is not rounded.

Jason,

How waterproof is the remote you have on your wrist? Does it automatically reconnect if you loose the wave and the boat has to turn around? Thank you for your creativity and response.

There are 3 small holes on the back of the remote that I simply put hot glue over to make waterproof. I also put hot glue on the small notch on the side. It doesnt look like water can get in but did it just to be safe.

So far it works great and no signs of water getting in.

Yes, it reconnects automatically when you get close to the boat again from falling down.

You just push any button on the remote and it connects quickly. Matter of seconds.

I have been very happy with it.

Super excited to see this wireless remote option... super bummed it is not compatible with the MS-RA205 (2017 Mondo). Has anyone successfully paired this remote with the RA205?

I ordered the transom remote as an option on my 2021 Kaiyen and it only came with the fusion remote. Dealer told me that this is the "new remote" and you have the ability to mount it wherever you like.

I did not order the transom remote with my 2021 Craz, but when i picked it up the dealer had installed this remote "puck" on the transom. I think the factory sent it with the boat and the dealer just glued it on. I also bought one for the inside of the boat as well for other people to change the music. They are great!

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThe pucks are awesome, and yes to someones question about them coming standard now with the new Fusion. It has a base it snaps into that you attach with double stick tape. Putting it on the transom for a remote is an awesome idea if you didn't order one! I'm trying to find a way to attach mine to a small wrist strap to wear it like a watch without looking too dorky! That way I can float with it away from the boat. For now I use it when we are sitting on the dock at night and using the boat for music.
Now for the placement of the transom remote from the factory! Second day out, someone stepped on the knob and broke it off. The knob that is. If they had put it on the side of the transom step over the cup holder, that probably wouldn't happen. OR, use a recess style knob or up and down buttons on the remote. This design could have been tweaked just a bit to be better. See pic. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210725/0dd94b282dc5a3b3126cd17aa9ea8d20.jpg

So I’m a bit confused. Do the 2021’s come with the puck style remote as the factory “transom remote” option? If so, why would anyone pay the extra $280 for that vs just ordering for $50 and sticking on yourself?

I have my 2022 Kaiyen on order via deposit and selected this as an option thinking it was the wired version....if not, I’ll eliminate it and order it via amazon.

Good question to ask. I would check with the dealership to be sure, but I believe the puck comes standard now. The rectangular remote, which is also Bluetooth by the way, does have a display screen on it. You can see song names etc.., and control the zones like the head unit does. Puck just controls volume and changes songs/tuning up and down. Or forward back, whatever you want to call it.

Well if that’s the case, then yeah...I’m going to just order for $50. 6x mark up is unnecessary for something that simple.

I’m finding a few things on the pricing to be a bit inflated for what they are. Transom straps ($170), guide covers ($130), and Spare Tire ($530) for example.

I stopped in today and asked the dealer. The guy I work with knows these pretty inside and out and they had a 2022 sitting on the floor. The rear transom remote is wired and is the one with the screen. The boat also comes with a puck that you can mount elsewhere if you like. The transom remote is a Fusion NRX300 I believe.

The transom remote may be wired now. But when I turned mine on to use it, it had to link up first. Gave me a connecting message similar to when a Bluetooth devise links up. But I guess that could still happen with a wired connection too.

The transom remote is a Fusion NRX300 I believe.

Is and has been a wired remote that works off a N2K network. Does not have wireless capabilities.

The wireless puck does allow for zone control, but you have to enter the "zone" mode and then tap to your desired zone, then make the volume adjustment. They are best when left to only work one desired zone. More user friendly. If you want multi-zone control at the transom, go with the wired display remote.

Man that is exactly what I had pictured in my head, but just have never got around to doing. I think that is a great idea. I was worried about it being waterproof enough and was going to "dork" it up more by sealing it with shrink wrap somehow. But from what you are saying, it will be a simple no brainer now. Thanks for posting this pic!
