Guys, I am looking to take the light/speaker bar off my 2007 LSV tower this year and replace it with 2 more modern looking speakers. Any thoughts or ideas on speakers. Has anyone done this? Pictures of how it looks would be great.

Lost of great options, depending goals/desires. Pure wake range, surf/party cove? Best of both? Off the hook in volume and still sound great? Im partial to the Wet Sounds and Kicker offerings. They range from 6.5" coaxial, 8" coaxial to 8", 9", 10" and 11" Horn Loaded Compression Drivers. With that said, with the current 8" tower speaker options, im hard pressed anymore, to suggest a 6.5" for a tower application. I prefer the better overall sound quality from the larger speaker, not to mention, more volume.

Also need to plan for an amp upgrade as a possibility.

mla is spot on.
I made a grave mistake in buying bullet 6.5hlcd's back in the day and they were CRAP. 6.5's are fine for interior speakers but the sound difference when i sold that boat and added 4 icon-8's on the replacement boat were night and day.
if all you do is surf or chill I'd recommend the icon8's. if you board you will probably want rev8 or rev10's for the distance.
personally I find the rev's too "harsh" and the icon's were much more musical but that's all personal preference. our current boat has 4 rev10's on it and they work.

I've not heard the kicker or jl tower speakers but good reviews on both of them. I think I'd pass on any other brands. exile used to be popular on here but as I've researched over the years, exile are rebranded imports with samson and a few other nameplates sharing overseas assembly.

As others have said, wet sounds is probably the gold standard on tower speakers. They are just so darn expensive.....for me I couldn't justify it. (AKA couldn't convince the wife 10X the cost was worth it.....) The reviews on the kickers were good, I personally dont know how they sound just yet, its not warm enough to pull the boat out of its cocoon. But I figured if I want it to be louder, Ill just add more amps and more pods. Even then its still cheaper that the wet sounds.
