Raw water impeller/seal question

Hello all, I've got one more question for you guys: is there supposed to be a washer between the raw water impeller and the shaft seal? I had the seal go bad behind the impeller.. ( thank you guys for helping me figure out where the spring behind my impeller came from) now I see that some kits have a washer and some don't... I'm wondering if that's why my seal got ruined because there was no washer between? Any input would be appreciated.. thanks again

The only thing on the impeller side of the housing is the impeller itself. It does look like there is a washer after the seal you took out.

makes sense now! That's why a washer comes with the kit.. I read on some forums that people were putting the washer between the impeller and seal.. apparently they were putting it in the wrong spot.. thanks again Jesse! You have helped me again!

No worries, glad to help! If you put the washer between the impeller and the seal it would just burn the seal and shred it!
