Ive searched extensively in this forum and others to see if anybody else with my boat (2011 Mobius LSV) has done an Gatorstep-Seakdek style update to the flooring. My floor has an large panel that Ive been cautioned on removing the carpet. I heard from a vendor that makes this style of flooring that the panel is meant to be wrapped in carpet since it doesn't fit that well and the carpet fills the gaps. Has anybody in this forum with my boat have photos of a completed flooring change? Available template?

Reach out to Mason over at Gatorstep for more information about your model. I'd imagine a template already exists...

I was hoping someone with my year of hull/floor had it done so I can see how it looks completed before I contact a vendor.

gatorstep, if they have sold to a customer with your boat, might have snaps or be willing to put you in touch with them.

13 LSV is different and able to easily put in Gatorstep or the like..... your 11 is like my old 12 and the rear center panel isn't even fiberglass its aluminum..... There is no way to make this look like a factory install in my opinion. I have seen some people wrap around the sides and it looks decent but still looks like a DIY job. Just my opinion though.

Large uneven gaps and rough cut if it's anything like the 06(same hull?), gatorstep won't cover those.

You can use hydroturf or miners moss(sp?) search the forum lots have used both. For hydro just cut it to fit and stick it. Wrap any exposed edges with hydroturf just like the carpet was/is.

Anybody have a template done up for the 12 and older flooring of the mobius lsv? Everyone has the 2013 obviously cuz of the snap carpet, but as everyone knows it's not the same...

Thank you for your comment it’s much appreciated. A lot of thought time and sweat equity went into the project. After considerable research I could not find much information on Seadek or gator step for this model LSV or similar years so I just pulled the trigger and did it I would like to help others with information on this up grade. First I was totally unable to get a hold of Gatorstep having said that my Seadek representative was the absolute best in every way knowledge helpful professional easy to contact and prompt to return calls. I will likely post this information with pictures in more than one part please bear with me I’m not very good with tech

Obviously I began by removing the carpet to my terror I saw the wonderfully designed fuel tank cover (sarcasm). And think what did I do and how can I put it back. Stop side comment My one hour project is just 1 broken bolt from a 3 day nightmare 3029330294. Notice the fuel tank tank cover is in 2 pieces and without the carpet you can and will see the fuel tank (not ideal for Eva foam) how do you make that look good. Off to the weld shop. At this point I’m not going to get overly technical you or your welder should do your own measuring 3029530296. These are photos first of the panels welded together then the welds ground away and all joints filled with a body filler to create one smooth floor panel. You should also add to the width of the locker door

A quick photo of the locker door30297. Please observe the added aluminum angle on the door to narrow the gap. Now both the locker door and floor panel had all the welds ground smooth then sanded with smooth (final sanding 220 paper). Next primed with self etching primer then the body filler another coat of self etching primer then filler primer and finally 3 coats of color. The other part of this project is the boat I sanded and filled imperfections in the floor applied 5 coats of gel coat wet sanded and buffed302983029930300. After installing locker door and the floor panel complete with screwing panels in place I caulked all the way around the (tank cover) floor panel and the perimeter of the floor with marine grade caulking. Here comes the Seadek installer30301

3030230303303043030530306 it’s complete and I love the finished product. I have to say my wife had her doubts similar to Jonny Cash’s wife had when she stared at the “psycho Philly Cadillac” and said honey take me for a ride. Seriously if anyone has questions please reach out to me. I can certainly email better pictures. My desire was for the boat to look as if the Seadek was “OEM”

I want to thank everyone for the positive feedback it means a lot. Also I need to give credit to castaway Custom’s although I did most of the labor they cut routed and laid the EVA. If I could rate castaway Custom’s here they would receive 5 stars

About $2300 but I also had $350 extra work on the gunnels castaway Custom’s did the scan and install the turn a round time was about 2 1/2 weeks they came to my house both times feel free to contact “Ellie” with Castaway Custom’s 573-579-3486 she’ll answer all your questions they’re really professional and friendly I did have to pay a licensing fee every time the moomba logo was used

DIY or did you have someone do it? I have an 08 Mobius LSV...gray carpet everywhere including under cushions. I hear its one large piece so curious if people just cut out the flooring and leave carpet elsewhere? Curious cost as well. Thanks.

I fabricated the aluminum floor panel and locked door at a minimal cost and assistance from gifted friend with a welder I also ground down the weld’s filled the cracks and painted myself. In the boat I sanded sprayed 5 heavy coats of gel coat wet sanded and buffed myself. Castaway Custom’s laser scanned CNC cut the Seadek and installed the Seadek. I only removed the exposed carpet on the floor and left all the carpet under the seating and inside the rear lockers if you need more details I am glad to help you can contact me anytime
