Things are slowly beginning to warm up a bit here after a rather cold Winter for us downunder.
Getting toey and wondered if anyone has changed from the stock OJ475 prop to the Acme 1235 prop and noticed much difference... good or bad?
We've been using the OJ since we purchased the 2014 Mondo new and bought the Acme as a backup. Just wondered if there was much difference to be had swapping over? We run fairly stock weight but a couple of times loaded in a tight turn I've felt the prop loose its grab so to speak.

I run the OJ 945. Tons of torque with some loss of top speed. But I couldn’t care less, I’m not driving an offshore.

had 1235 on all of my boats. swapped out an oj for the acme on my first supra and best money I ever spent on that barge. it's the prop we spec'ed on our next 2 boats just because of the good luck running it on the supra. I have no direct comparison between 945 and 1235.

oj back in the late '00's had a bad growling issue with skiers choice boats which will push me away from their props but I know a lot are using them now and like them.

I have a OJ945(15x13) and acquired a spare Acme1235 as a weekend saver. I unfortunately haven't tried it as I am pretty happy with my OJ945. From my limited insight, here are some details I have:

1) The 1235 is 14.25x14...so will get better top end speed...but will run a bit higher RPMs with heavy load.
2) My prop repair guy is a huge ACME fan and showed me a handful of OJ props vs. ACME props...here is some overall thoughts he had:
a. if an ACME is 14.25...it is exactly 14.25...OJs seem to be inconsistent at time...he showed me 3 x 15s that were all 1/8" different from each other.
b. OJs feel a little beefier in the size of blades...not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing :)

I think they are both great props and love my 945....i have been too lazy to swap the 1235...but would be interested in seeing the difference myself...maybe next year!

I have both the 1235 and the 945. The 1235 is a wakeboard prop. With the 1235 on my Craz, it really struggled with full ballast and surfing.

945 is like low range in a 4wd.

once I sell my extra 537's I'll be looking to buy one of your 1235's to have as my spare prop! For my boat and weight, the 1235 is what I like. I definitely want to have a 2nd one. :-D

but a couple of times loaded in a tight turn I've felt the prop loose its grab so to speak.

The 1235 is 14.5" D compared to the 475's 14.25. This = more blade surface area, which will help with this ^^^ issue. Although the 1225 is .25" lower pitch, the extra pro diameter will offset most the typical RPM increase we get with just a pitch drop.

That’s why a 15x13 is so good

Any consensus on the 2419? I've yet to see anyone review it

Thanks for all your input.
I'll swap it over before the season starts and give the 1235 a run to see.
Gonna be a short season this year, lake has not even reached 49%!

Acme 1235 prop is on, now I have to wait about 6 weeks for it to be warm enough to go out!
Will post some comments/thoughts once it's been for a run.

Went out last Wednesday with the fam and tried the Acme 1235 prop for the first time, rather interesting.
At idle it seems to have made the boat travel forwards a little faster which was completely un-expected. The rudder authority was better here as well.
Take off from a dead stop was snappier and if the throttle was pushed further forward while getting up on plane the boat responded better, top end was almost the same, maybe lost 2mph but it depends a little on wind and water conditions. Will have a better idea after a season of using it, while surfing it seemed better hooked in than the OJ.
One thing that will take a bit of adjustment on my part is to not let off the go gas quite so suddenly as previous, the lager surface area of the prop makes it act like a big brake. Anyway just some observations, not massive changes, all subtle.
Supposed to snow today so no playing on the lake, was 28degC last Wed....Spring weather!
