Hi there, just got a new to me 2010 moomba Mobius LSV boat. I have been trying to surf but can’t go ropeless. It has 750lbs in each rear, ski locker and IBS ballast. Also have wakeshaper. Wondering what set up and speed I should be using? Considering upgrading to 1100 lbs in rear but not too sure they will fit. The size of the 1100s are 50 x 24 x 24 and the 750s I have are 50 x 20 x 20 and they are popping up the compartment when full. Please help!

what speed are you running , we have an 08 LSV ... 750 rears , 400 locker and 650 IBS running at 11.2 mph, and have homemade wakshaper as far back on the hull as possible just below the waterline

We started at 10.9 mph and have been trying anywhere from 10.2-11.2mph. I only have my wife driving and 2 boys (11 and 8) in the boat unless we have friends.

My buddy has a 2011 and he has 800 rears and 400 in the ski locker. With only 2 people in the boat...it is underwhelming the wave...surfable...but pretty small.

When we put a 650 lbs bag infront of his back seat on the floor and drain ~300 lbs out of the rear locker to list it...it makes the wave pop! He is similar to you with a 12/10 year old and wife a lot of the time....my opinion the ideals setup:

1) Front - plumb an IBS into the ski locker vent line.(there is a good article on this forum of someone doing that)

2) Run the 910 lbs wakemaker bags(20 wide x 24 high x 45 deep)

3) Get 500 lbs of lead to run mid ship and shift it surf side to list the boat.

As Psycho said though...the wakeshaper as far back and low on the hull as possible...he runs a Mission Delta and that seems to work well on the 2011.

Hey, so I have 690lbs IBS, 430lbs in center/ski locker and 750lbs in rear. Should I fill them all full and non-surf side about 50% with wakeshaper? Usually just wife driving and 2 boys (11 and 8). What’s the best speed 11.2mph??

I think you need a little bit more rear weight if you were to fill the entire IBS. I would put a 650 lbs on the floor infront of the rear seat...and then drain ~50% out of the none surf side...that will make a great wave on that hull from my experience!

i have an 07 lsv and my setup is home made wake shaper as far back on the opposite from the side you are surfing on, full IBS under front bow, full 750 bag in the rear locker on surf side, and about half full on the opposite side. Then put most of the people on the surf side to list the boat. If i don't have at least 4 or more people in the boat i fill an extra bag i have ( around 500 lbs) and put it in the bow to keep the bow down. The bottom line is the more weight the better.

Hey Scott, should I fill the center/ski locker?

yea if you have a bag in the ski locker then use it as well. The only reason i bypass my ski locker is I used to have the ski locker bag fill and then push into the IBS to fill it. It wasn't a big deal but i was always getting water in the ski locker and i was thinking that the fitting on the bag was maybe leaking or could possibly come off. I was worried that if the fitting came off i would be getting a ton of water filling the ski locker and it just worried me. So i just took the ski locker bag out and run the hose right to the IBS.
