Per the Southtown Watersports Review online, yes.

All sub floor, same interior features as SE and SL, new JL amps, 2 x 12” subs like SE.

Lets talk about MSRP on the new 2020 models.

SA 2019 $129,200 SA 2020 $137,200 6.2% increase
SL 2019 $133,200 SL 2020 $138,800 4.2% increase
SE 2019 $143,620 SE 2020 $148,600 3.4% increase

Why such a drastic increase on the SA? The price is now right up against the SL...

A lot more standard I believe. Double sub is one

Gotta pay for the hull and deck mold tooling.

But yeah the SA has the latest and greatest hull tech.

Maybe Goose would be willing to share some of the differences behind the new hull technology and how those designs will create next level waves from the 2020 SA?

I am not in need of more bass in my current boat, my 2 10's are just fine and I am not really looking to pay basically the same amount of money for 1' less space, but if the hull designs kick out a significantly improved wave then that might be reason to trade up.

It will be hard to tell Standard features until the builder goes live, but yeah $1500 difference and a foot shorter tells me the SA has some more standard features possibly.

New Standards (2020) - and these are just from my head so may not all be right

- Ballast Sensors STD
- New DSP JL Amps (they are awesome)
- Dual Subs are STD (1 in SR). SA has dual 12s, old one had 1 10"
- M7 Sub replacing M6 in all models (with RGB)
- HD Transom Cam (and optional tower)
- Wireless Phone Charger
- Storage hooks in compartments
- Bimini latch (no need to put on boot to fold)
- Scarlet Red Vinyl
- Hinged bow cushions (SA and SE)
- STD 400 engine has 1.76 transmission

Did I see in the video that the surf tabs can be used to level the boat under way in cruise? Maybe a software upgrade could unlock that functionality. It’s doable to level it with ballast, it just takes some time. Tabs would be killer if possible.

Indeed—auto level. Need to be going 22+ for it to really work well. So it doesn’t crab the boat too much

Any inside info on that software going into the 2019?

I asked the dealer, no planned update for the 18 for auto level, and I don't think the 19 either. But you can set an autowake cruise setting to do about the same thing with ballast. That could change. As far as the hull, it is redesigned, but the running surface is relatively the same as the previous SA. With 3 less inches and weighs more with larger ballast, it's kicking up some huge waves and wakes bone stock. It's legit.

What exactly is the benefit for auto leveling?

When would you need it?

Uses swell tabs at cruise as automatic trim tabs.

So the boat isn't listed to one side when no ballast and on plain with people sitting wherever they want. You can also do this with an auto wake profile and name it cruising or go home or whatever. It won't do the trim tabs, but will level using ballast.

Autolevel sounds sick! I find myself flipping ballast switches to achieve a level ride on long cruises when we have a big crew. So simple but so brilliant, one less thing to think about at the helm and doing it without adding weight.

You must maintain the utmost in crew discipline. On our unkempt boat boat of hooligans, we are rarely level. I also used ballast regularly to level it up (mostly manually I must admit, perhaps Autowake would be smarter). But the autolevel is pretty badass. Once it goes active: BAM [emoji95] it’s level.

You can fool your system by running an autowake profile at amplitude 0 pitch whatever you want and 0 roll. It'll do it for you on long cruises. Then adjust speed and trim on the fly.

I like the idea of fooling autowake like Knox mentions above because I typically add ballast manually to level out the ride. Then you start thinking about having 850 lbs of lead on board, a crew of 8 and then adding as much as 15-20 percent in ballast on one side and your burning more fuel on a long cruise.

It still will add ballast if it sees fit—like you do manually. It will just not add more than a small bit.

2 years ago my SL550 which has every option that was available other than triple axle trailer, it has the runway lights on the trailer at night, everything...the build sheet was $168k and some change. Fast forward 2 years and foot shorter boat with the 400 and less options has a build price very, very close to that.

I would say the boat business is booming right now for all brands!!!

I walked through the 2020 SL at my local dealership the other day. It has the new trashcan in the dog house with access between the walkthrough in the windshield and one in the floor. The original location behind the driver's seat does not have a trash can in there, you could put a 3rd on in there but it doesnt come with one in there.

The new blackcherry metallic is good looking in person.

I agree. Depending on the light and the angle, it could be 3 colors.

There is a 2020 SL 400 in Knoxville with that color. Red interior. Red tower. Just got custom GatorStep. Awesome.

There really isn’t much price difference between the SE, SL and SA when you level set them with the 450 engine option.

Appx $1500 from SA to SL and another $1500 from SL to SE.

It is more like a $4-5k difference. I just looked it up on the Supra builder to verify, for the 19s anyway. Maybe after you negotiate or work a great deal, but just on MSRP, they're more than $1500 apart all with the 450.

larry_arizona
08-18-2019, 12:51 PM
Base price for 2020’s with adding 450 to level set the SA,SL,SE with same drivetrain.

SA $137200 +8400 for 450 = $145600
SL $138800 +8400 for 450 = $147200
SE $148600 450 is base engine.

SA is $1600 less than SL
SL is $1400 less than SE

Right on, I've not seen any 2020 pricing out yet. At least they aren't thousands apart, so it really just comes down to what size is best for your needs and what you think looks best... Good info Larry.
