I'll start it off. Doubles Wakesurfing with my son! And not the way that most of you have posted up.

Both of us freeriding on our own boards on the same wave.

(and yes, the waverunners coming up on our a** at the end got yelled at for sure!)

Question, where are you mounting the presumed GoPro for this video? Like the vantage point.

My August contribution.....a new garage for my Craz. Well, sort of...

Foundation has been poured, framing starts in two weeks.

Pardon the crude photoshop....I don't have any tower folded shots, the garage will have a header height of 9ft and a tandem depth of 30 ft.

thanks, It helps a lot to have the video to watch and see what you can do to improve. I went from full body rolls into the wave to making it around for the most part. It should happen soon.

Skiers Marine dealer was hosting a lunch on the lake customer appreciation day today on Lay Lake. We swung by and ate some great shrimp tacos and chatted it up with a few folks and crew from the dealership. Those guys are great! They brought a 2019 SL and MC XT22 for demo boat rides. I was hoping to get a surf session behind the SL but it was gone for a while. We ended up leaving a while later in after some rain showers rolled through only to find my ballast relay module having a fit and had to pull the fuse to stop it from running on its own. Ended up just swimming for a while, cruising and then dropped the boat off at the dealer to fix the relay module issue. Still had a great time on the water despite the ballast issue and no SL ride lol. BTW love my Exile balls and had several people ask about them. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a traditional fender again.

A 12 foot door on a residential garage would look like ass in my opinion.

9 is perfect, 8 will work for anything other than an SE and 7 is building standard

there's a lot of them around here in "modern" subs that have either 2+rv or one builder is only doing a 4car rv door.
that being said iirc RC is using toll, a semi custom builder. they do some modifications but trying to do a full on rv garage on a stock plan would be tough. here in vegas we couldn't get ANY production builder to extend the garage length by even an inch and full custom builders can't get access to any lots/land in a sub.
the only rv door houses we could afford are in a 55+ community(don't qualify). the rest are all starting in the mid500's and go up from there...

jcarter20

We use one long rope and one short rope. We both started in the water. It is harder than it looks for the person in the back because the person in front really changes the wave.

pic looks like they are moving along. as soon as it's closed up it'll seem to come to a standstill :)
woods behind look like you are on a nice lot.
having that street across from you will be money to get the boat in and out but I hope it's not a busy street. all the headlights at night will shine right at your pad. don't ask me how I know this...

We spent a ton of time agonizing over the lots and ingress/egress was a major consideration.

We are on the very edge of a corner Cul-de-Sac so it'll be easy to pull past and back in.

Definitely not a busy street, this section is off of the main thoroughfare.

This is the site plan, we're on Lot 5.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190814/620e9c90f37afd415622a9ffda57f8ab.jpg

Same. Thought homeboy rolled so deep he bought the empty lot next door for a toy box. This isn't some rural non-HOA community where you can slap a tin storage unit on a piece of land....

As long as I've had my Craz I've wanted a home with a garage big enough to keep onsite in-house.

That is becoming reality as we build our "forever home"....

I may not roll so deep that I buy land just to put toys on it but the house is gonna be sick, very modern, very minimalistic, full open concept.

That's awesome, I'm jealous. But priorities...bigger house or bigger boat? [emoji23]There is an order of operations.

Build the bigger house to eventually fit a bigger boat.

My 3 car tandem will be 35ft deep on the long side so it's future proofed for when I'm ready to part with my Craz and game for a 2022 Makai, SA or SL [emoji16]

That's awesome. What lake do yall go too? I had a friend take me out on Keystone once while I was in the area for work. I really liked it, we went to this huge beach where everyone was anchored and tied up. Was a heck of a party.

I can't even remember how that started. Was it EdG or Wolfie? Somebody changed avatars for a couple of us to barbie pink stuff and it just spread. Yes, was entertaining in the dog days of winter that year.

That's awesome!
We go to Skiatook (sometimes Oologah). Keystone is sandy which is cool for beaching but hard on a boat's cooling system. Skiatook has a rock bottom and sides. Very clean but almost no chance of catching an anchor.

It's Hidden Bay Cafe, it's between Tomahawk Bay and Saphire Bay moorages. Mostly burgers and sandwiches, but always nice to have on the water options. Yeah, not sure about all that piping. I just ignored it.

Yes, it gets hot. Nothing a towel can't handle. it's rarely been unbearable.

Nice! I'm trying to get my 3yo to come out with me but he's not having it this year. My 7yo on the other hand won't let me out without her. Starting to carve a little with her on with me. Figured if I was going to get to play I was going to have to learn it with two. Wouldn't change a thing tho. It's been the best summer yet!

Hey guys, just a reminder for all of us before Labor Day... safety above all else! I had a good friend go down skiing last weekend and he was a quarter inch away from drinking through a straw the rest of his life. His spinal surgery went well and he will heal up... but he pushed himself a little too far and obviously is regretting it. Just thought I would throw it out there! My nephew had a birthday party in New Braunfels Saturday so we figured heck, if we are only going to be 30 minutes from canyon lake we might as well bring the boat! So we did. My dad came along too and snapped some cool pictures with his Phantom 4 Pro. Nice to be able to enjoy some clear water in TX.

Z28ke, you got that dialed in good.

Details on what you are running.

I added 500# lead to my SA last week and with Autowake......holy hell can you dial in the wave.

I am 100% in tune with how Autowake helps you, I was getting a barrel rolling over the top of my wave.

I didn’t lose a drop of ballast and moved 50# extra to surf side, and 150# to the bow.

Just a sweet system once the light switch turns on.

Goofy side, I use the factory swell surf 2 preset

11mph, 7.5 pitch,4.0 roll

Last time out it was a crew of 2 in boat and 1 rider in the water.

Passenger is 150# on port side, I am 250# at the helm.

Stock ballast 100% full.

500# lead wake dispersed........300# mid ship starboard, 100# bow, 100# mid ship port.

Hit the Autowake numbers perfect statically and then dynamically and with the added displacement, the wave was firm, tall and had a barrel at the lip.

I liked Autowake before, but now I love it.

The bonus is my son wanted to learn to transfer and ride on the regular side. When I transferred from goofy to regular, we were not too far off on regular and he still had a great regular wave to ride.

I will say this, the SA, SL and SE need some extra ballast to truly shine. I know that’s not a original thought, but get some friends or buy some lead, it’s worth it.

The SA needs at least 500#.

I am going to guess the SL will need 750-1000# and SE needs 1000+

Been busy on house so hoping to get out more the next couple of months.

Good info. I'll be on Lake Mead next Saturday. Having a family reunion and renting a boat for the day. Hope the winds don't pick up.

Good weekend overall.
Entertained a group of bachelors Friday. 4 of the 7 had never surfed. Got 3 up.
Great time ended with a $305 fine and lecture about co2 poisoning for riding on the engine cover.

Our last sunset cruise while on vacation. Bittersweet but we’ve had a blast on Lake Martin!

Z28ke, you got that dialed in good.

Details on what you are running.

Thanks!

2018 Max all stock 100% full plus:

720lb midship bags
100lbs lead in bow
300 lbs lead under rear bench seat with bias towards port
No passengers

Surf tab: 65
Wakeplate: forgot to check

I absolutely love Autowake. But it looks like your method is working.

I should probably recalibrate the sensor and try it out now that I have sufficient ballast in the boat.

That's a meaty wave!
Thanks! it's good enough that it's making it hard to justify getting into anything different that costs a ton more money.

That's dumb. How about giving them an education about what a Fresh Air Exhaust does?

there was no point in trying to explain anything to these 2 officers. their minds were made up. emailed the lawyer that got me out of my last last traffic ticket this morning. if there's an out or reduction he'll find it.

as he leaned over the boat to give me my extinguisher back, he noticed the coozie in the drivers cupholder down low. immediately asked me to give it to him. the look on his face when I pulled the diet dr pepper can out of the coozie and handed it to him was priceless. he thought there would be a second charge for beer within reach of the driver. one of the guys on the boat saw his face and said he had never seen such a letdown :)
told him I was not drinking as I was entertaining the guys that were drinking. I don't think he believed me but whatever.....

One of the few areas where our laws are actually more lax...

Under Oregon law, boat operators are allowed to drink alcohol and possess open containers on boats. However, boat operators cannot be under the influence — meaning their blood-alcohol level cannot be above the same .08 percent threshold for drunken driving. Also, those with a lower blood-alcohol level face arrest if they are impaired.

In fact, I found out recently that OR law actually allows surfing w/o a life vest. I don't condone this, but occasionally I have a stubborn friend that wants to be free. This weekend he was on my boat and tossed his life vest in the boat while surfing. It's on him to accept the consequences, and I'm not going to treat him like a child. He surfed right past the sheriff shortly thereafter with obvious white upper body skin hanging out and the sheriff didn't do a thing.

They don't publicize these gray areas in OR, but they do exist.

In fact, I just read up that sitting on the sundeck, etc is only prohibited above 5mph in OR.

Same open container law in Idaho.

WA will tag you for open container in the driver's cupholder though. :-/

I always use cans of non-alcoholic beverages for drinking on the boat. Whether Vodka finds its way into the can is undetermined...

Same in Michigan, driver can have beer in hand as long as under .08

Well, I do live in WA. But it's 15 minutes to OR and almost all my boating is done under OR law. (when there's 2 states that share a boundry with water like the Columbia river, the more lenient of the laws apply per the Oregon Boating Board). So that means I use WA's law to ride until an hour after sunset, but OR's more lenient laws on other things.

Not on my lake. They don't care if.you have a couple drinks. Sitting on the sundeck while moving is the only thing they seem to care about.

You sure about that? It seems to me it used to be on a split boundary waterway the laws from your origin (launch) supersede your supposed location when it comes to licensing, BUI, etc.

I guess I'll have to search through my old emails.

nevada is similar to other states in that you can be on the sundeck at 5mph but not faster.

I have done some research over the last few days. you have to clip the kill switch to (1) your body (2) your swimsuit or (3) your life vest.
they consider a throwable a type IV life vest. so basically clip the kill switch to your throwable, stuff down in the corner and legal.

riding on the sundeck(actual verbiage is engine hatch here) is technically legal at any speed if your feet are on the deck. so thinking about opening up the non surfside hatch, standing back there and seeing what they do. "technically" your feet are on the deck :)
does sitting on the back for those that have rear sundecks that open on left/right sides not covering the engine constitute a legal move? unfortunately mine have to both open to then open the engine hatch or i'd fight it and see what happens. my old supra had a separate engine cover and left/right covers over the rear compartments.

Nothing for the time being I’ve decided to start my own business and Decided to get rid of some liabilities. Can’t say I’m upset either sold the boat paid off my truck, boat, got rid of storage and insurance. But it will be another Moomba or Supra in the future.
