Planning on purchasing a XLV in the somewhat near future, just curious to see what all you other XLV owners have done as far as upgrades.
My plan will be to upgrade the swim deck obviously and add more ballast if it’s not already done on whatever boat I buy.

Well, I bought myself a brand new tow vehicle if you consider it as an upgrade. It's an upgrade in my life for sure, I just got rid of the other piece of junk :D I will move to France soon and I was thinking about buying a new tow vehicle since the first time I decided to buy a house on the French Riviera (https://tranio.com/france/cote_d_azur/detached/). My old one was causing a lot of problems but now eveything is fine.

I’ve actually seen and read a lot of your posts, your bait is an inspiration
You have any pictures of some of the cooler more custom kinds like the over engine storage and ballast upgrades?

Engine tray. built as 2 pieces with 1/4" HDPE and some aluminum angle with some SS Screws. Not all that deep with the XLV, but enough for some ropes, the flag, the throw cushion.... And it's a great pizza warmer.

Coleman party stacker cooler fits great. Lid is notched out on the lip of it so fit under the crossmember of that seat (the part that the braces fit into to turn it into a backrest)

I forgot my home-made surf pipe.

The downpipe has since been replaced with an aluminum one that's pressed to a narrower profile. But you get the idea.

Pile of Wetsounds audio equipment
1180 front, 1020 rear bags
Full Wakemakers ballast upgrade system with BETTER wiring. I was amazed they shipped with scotch lock connectors behind the switches...
ebay version of the mission wake shaper ($129 shipped)
Ski Pylon delete with PVC cap & pipe
Full carbon feel interior
below rail custom wrap

This winter will be full SeaDek treatment.

I won't attempt to list the service parts I've replaced on both the boat & trailer. But hey, saved $50K off buying new so there was money to play with.

Here is how mine interior turned out. I used a company called aqua traction. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190805/ad7a63a783403e798d467d6b9ae47d49.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190805/a30dd36ba68f38a5e031fa22f225ea47.jpg

That looks amazing! What did you use to fill the snap holes in the floor? My terrible rubber snap in flooring blew out on the highway. I will be replacing all mine with glue down.

We got it last year before our vacation and this year I pressure washed it and the color came right back.

Potsieuf,
I'm guessing they now have your pattern on file? I'm planning a carpet replacement this winter but didn't want to deal with making patterns etc. Was just going to use sheet material from Seadek.

I have a 2006 XLV and have done some of the same things as you. I Have PPI amps as well and have been very impressed for the price. I use the same cooler under the seat. We upgraded the entire seating vinyl to add a silver carbon fiber accent. We added swivel racks as well as the stock fixed racks (great when friends bring their own toys). I had to modify the stock folding bimini rear straps so we could rotate the boards in, but I love it now. We upgraded all the interior speakers to Kicker and the towers to Polk Audio with a JL 10" sub under the helm. Next year should bring Wakemakers ballast upgrade kit, Z% cargo bimini and maybe a bigger Sub. Ours is a similar color pattern. Nice to get some ideas for ours from others like yourself. Great topic.

I want to add swivel racks to mine, how did you modify the straps?

Ill have to get some pics. I found some brackets for the tower that held 1/4" pins and cut down the rear straps and added in a D-ring swivel to go directly to the tower from the back of the bimini frame. It only has a 6" or so adjustable strap on the rear of it now. I put in quick release pins to hold in the rear D-rings. Worked out perfect...surprisingly!
