I know some of you added the FAE surf pipe, I decided to go OEM and thought I’d share.

I read everywhere that installing was a nightmare. A local guy here did one on a Max through the dealer, he said he got lucky as they charged him 4 hours, and the dealer told him after that it took 10, but they ate the cost and honored what he was quoted.

Well, mine was pretty much plug and play and took less than 45 minutes. Maybe the Mojo Pro, or maybe I got lucky, but there’s 2 hose clamps from the inside, 4 screws on the flange through the transom, and resealing is all it took.

Here are some pics. Hardest prt and most time consuming was breaking the seal on the existing exhaust flanger, and when I dropped my hose clamp bit under the motor. Removed 4 screws from exhaust output, broke seal, removed flange, cleaned/sanded removed remaining sealant, resealed and mounted the pipe, tightened hose clamps inside. Plenty of room back there on a Mojo, didnt even scratch a knuckle.

and took less than 45 minutes

If you thru-bolted it, then damn, you got lucky.

Did the FAE come with an extra set of Rev10s as well?

Great looking boat.

Surf pipes are WELL worth it. Noise and fumes suck.

LOL, yeah, they (and an additional wetsounds amp, additional subwoofer) somehow found their way onboard. Hate it when that happens.

What'd the OEM surfpipe run cost wise to source the part?

Hard to get something past forum members when I comes to wet sounds.

First outing with the new pipe, and yes, there’s a pretty big difference. Especially at lower speeds it seems, near silent. On acceleration you just hear the gear and engine wind up, no growling exhaust coming from that air pocket under the deck.

Good purchase!

You will find you don’t need your audio anywhere near as loud unless you just are that loud music guy on the lake.

Surf pipes should be required

After watching the boat at the PWT I was fairly convinced that I needed a surf pipe. After seeing everyones surf pipe cracked on you tube and the issues RC is having I am convinced that there is no way in hell I am getting a surf pipe.

What brands are cracking?

I will keep an eye on it.

Sounds like a warranty thing.

Buy direct from FAE. Only issue ive seen are the new style with no support brackets popping screw heads or pulling the wood screws out of the transom and the whole thinks sinks to the bottom of the lake. FAE now has you thru-bolt them and use 5200. Seems to have been the fix.

On the lake last week, a boat pulled out and my wife commented on how loud it was. She was like omg why is that azzhole's boat so loud? I said we are probably just as loud. I really hadn't thought about the surf pipe acting as a silencer. New item added to the list. (shakes head)

Haven’t seen any you tube videos on it but the Supra Moomba owners Facebook page is full of them. The weld cracks right where the pipe meets the flange.
