Happy early Independence Day and hope everyone has a safe and fun time on the water! I usually try and avoid the holidays on the water due to all the idiots who get plastered and drive but we may get out on Sunday when the crowds die back down.

Let’s include videos in these threads too as I know some of you have to upload your fun times on the water. I forgot to grab my damn as card yesterday :(

if you haven't been and ever get a chance tour the HD museum in Milwaukee. great tour. I'm a metric guy and always will be but a lot of history and cool bikes there.

I have always wanted to go. Since I was a kid and all my dad's friends were riding Harleys and Indians I always wanted one. But when I was young it was speed. It's like a lot of guys buy a vet at 40. I bought a makai and a Harley instead. There's just something about those memories that just gets to you.

I think that risk of being so exposed is even more appealing. There was about 4 years in my life where all I rode was a motorbike. Didn't even own a car. Only had one lay down. Going 5 mph in the home depot parking lot. Still mad at that lady lol. But yeah the risk is there. I try to limit it by not riding on the hwy ever. Only country roads and around my country like town.

I said I woudn't buy another bike when i sold the ninja in wisconsin but got here to vegas and it's too nice to not ride. I feel safer on the freeways as you have more lanes as an "out" than on 2 lanes. you do have to be prepped for a wreck tho. my maintenance tech just got back after a lady pulled an illegal u-turn and he broadsided her on his 'busa. 6 cracked ribs, bruised sternum and bruised lung later hes back at work after 2 months and in a year or so probably a decent settlement. I guess I'm beyond my mid life as I have owned 3 supersports and 1 sport tourer but settled for an upright naked this time. the z650 is all I need to putter around here.

Took a 750 fatsac out with wife, daughter and I today to play around after swimming in the coves and cruising around. Was surprised how much that single 750 woke up the wave! The goofy side had a really nice shape to it with a barrel flowing out the end. Need to figure out how to make the regular side have close to the same shape. I know prop rotation helps the goofy side a lot but quite the difference despite having the same surf settings. My regular side is always longer but not as big or as defined. Regardless this makes me happy to see the boat wake up with just the single bag and reaffirms the WM kit will be nuts!

I had it laying on the rear floor over the fuel tank hatch. Originally it was positioned on the regular surf side but it rolled to around the center of the boat.

I think more work has been done since I’ve been gone than when I was home!

Helped the wife pull the boat out of storage, build the tower and troubleshoot some engine problems. Ordered some parts and helped her install them through FaceTime. Then, she forgot that the new registration stickers hadn’t been put on, and got a “Warning Ticket” from the Rangers on the lake for the holiday. So I had a buddy make some to install. Now, to try to refurbish the rub rail. It’s looking dingy against the freshly buffed green.

Sure, you can hotlink through a photo site like Imgur. Upload pic to Imgur, then copy the image direct link URL, then press the insert pic button, choose "from URL", then paste the hyperlink and uncheck the 'retrieve file and reference locally' box.

And you get this:

But if you're willing to do the typing on your phone, then it's a lot easier to have tapatalk do the hosting and hotlinking of the pics, cutting out the middle man.

Because when you "upload" a photo via tapatalk, you're really uploading it to the tapatalk servers and it's creating a slick hotlink to display your image embedded into your post. I just did the same thing, but I used a 3rd party imaging hosting site (which tapatalk is actually also a 3rd party site) and then used the URL to embed it in my post.

The ladder came with 8 1 1/8” stainless mounting screws and they went all the way in without coming through the other side.

I’ll try to get a picture of it with the Wake plate 100% up today with the go pro while we are out. Maybe RC Hinosa can measure the distance from the bottom of the platform to the top of the surf pipe.

Snagged a Ronix Potbelly Cruiser last week and WOW. Amazing boat board. Surfed tandem with the kids for the first time, wife surfed ropeless, and we got the wave dialed. Great weekend!

Never knew the ballast had an overflow lol so now I know to cycle the pumps 3-4 times even when it says it’s full.

That, coupled with a new surf plate adjustment (35-40 instead of 75-80) has really improved the wave. I think Matt said that more surf tab activation can actually lift the boat which is the opposite of what we want.

Wave looks good. And yes too much surf plate deployment just flattens the wave. Use as little surf plate deployment as you can in order to shape the wave. More is NOT better, is does left the boat rear end which counteracts the ballast.

Thank you sir. Looks like I’ll be adding one to my Max! I current work around is filling the rear ballast to lower the platform and make it easier to renovate but a ladder would save all of that. I assume you’ve seen no I’ll effects to the wave or wake from the ladder? Thanks again for the insight on your project.

The only I’ll effect is it rattles when sitting still at idle. It has not effect on the wake or wave so far that I have noticed.

Bunch of kids with for a birthday party, a few that have never been tubing. So after the wind kicked up it was time to introduce them to "that guy" out destroying the water.

Told kids no tube (sooo tired of it)...instead had the oldest who for some reason struggles the most use a wakeboard to surf. Surprisingly she got up on her 4th try and now can proper wakeboard as well. Now she actually enjoys boating [emoji38]. Not a bad idea for someone to try as its much easier to teach being so close to the boat (almost like a ghetto boon).

Did my good deed on Sunday. This Supra flagged us down as we were otw back to the ramp. Sounds like the alternator went bad and killed the batteries, and it was barely able to idle. Tossed them a line and pulled them the rest of the way in. They offered gas money but I refused, and asked that they return the favor to the next stranded boater.

Moved tabs around like Matt suggested in other threads and even in 14-18 feet of water, TONS of push. If I fall out of the pocket the back of the wave just scoops me up and shoots me forward. Ballast is 90 front, 100 port, 85 starboard with surf tab at 35-40 and wakeplate at 0-12. 11.1mph

Riding the 4'6 Doomsell Nubstep and the 4'10 Ronix Potbelly Cruiser. Both are great. The Cruiser can surf wayyy back at the curl, crazy. Still had push, only thing that stopped me back there was the curl hitting the top of the board and slowing me down.

Good looking wave. I set my plates at 60 surf side, wake plate 25, and 0 on the non-surf side. Pitch at 7.5 for both surf sides, and roll at 5.0 for surf right and -3.0 for surf left. I found that is my sweet spot. I also have stock ballast with 300lbs of lead, all in the rear. I put 200 on the surf side and 100 on the non-surf side.

Really disappointed in lake Travis. With wind conditions the amount of no wake zones in every cove. Wife doing her thing. I had put a 2” fin on her phase5 for her to get used to it last year, and finally swapped it back to the tiny “stock” fin. She did amazingly well, her turns were much more crisp, and she didn’t lose the edge as much as I was worried she would.

I’m trying to figure out whether I want to get this or not, but I need to understand how the backrest stows when you aren’t using it as a rear facing seat.

I know as a part of this option you get the small backrest for the seat behind the driver, and that I have seen. But nothing ever in detail on the middle seat back rest.

Stazi, the back rest stores under the rear sliding seat using the same bracket that hold it up when in place. See the attached pic, the small black rectangle is the bracket and you can see the back rest stored under it. Has a few pull pins to set it up. You can slide the seat without setting up the back rest as well. The new 2020s come with the small backrest behind the drivers seat now as a standard.

Nahh. She chose to stay behind and sit in the sun! I took the dog and drove back to the closest Tractor Supply, so they could rob me of $189 for a single spare wheel and tire. Ugh, that hurt the wallet. Especially when the 15” rims with 205/75s were 2 for $200.

LOL..wind power for back up...love it! I only inflate the tube about 3 times per year. Force them to get good at something more fun than tubing. Even these people in this Malibu picked up their tube to watch my kid for 30 minutes or so.

Well the 2019 TX Jam has come and gone. Weather was beautiful and the river gods blessed us with the first clean weekend of the summer! Little to no debris and no current. It was a blast!

Set a few records for our crew on Sunday. We had 6 different people wakeboard before we broke out the surfing. Had 2 surfers, then motored to a floating restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we had 3 more surf. Lots of ride time that day.
