Ford broke the cylinder labeling rule. Lol
They label theirs 1-4 on one side 5-8 on the other.
So if you’re looking at the engine from the swim deck (cus that’s closest to the front of the motor) 1-4 is on the right side.

Ford:
8 4
7 3
6 2
5 1

GM and everyone else in the known universe:
8 7
6 5
4 3
2 1

1000 quarters won’t even cover the cost of the spark plugs they wanted 300 just for the plugs.

Just pull the plugs and cross reference to the NGK, that's what I did on our Mojo, was still around $120 for 16. Never missed a beat. The coils can be sourced from one of your local auto parts store as well.

That’s the plan I was just blown away at how much they wanted. The parts guy said the plugs are motorcraft and cross reference but said the coils are indmar specific only. I’m a do the plugs and see how it goes

The coils are ford as well but they spray painted the part numbers so hard to read

Motorcraft SP526 and CYFS12FP are same plug.

Again, $4.05 each on Amazon

Here are all the rock auto equivalent plugs.

Factory are double platinums.

Are you sure about this? I am relatively new to boats, but was an automaobile mechanic for several years. Ford cars always numbered 1 - 4 on the PASSENGER side of the car. If you were standing on the swim platform, looking at the front of the engine, it would be
4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5

Yep you’re right... I was thinking of the GM motor to show the difference and put cylinders 1 on the same side. Good catch, lol

The blue ones are newer and we’re on the exhaust side. The intake plugs are the original ones. Each one had one of each. I swapped coil and plug wire from 3 to 1 if it misfires again it’ll be easier to just change the coil packs.

Anyone know how to clear the check engine light. Sure be nice if there was a obd 2 port some where hidden

On a car having the negative terminal disconnected for several hours (18 - 24) will usually clear the code. You can also disconnect BOTH terminals form the battery and then touch the terminals on the WIRES to each other. Be careful and don't create a direct short. Use a volt meter to be sure the wires dont have any voltage.

On the newer cars it’ll still store the faults in the memory even if you do a capacitive discharge. But it is ford guess I’ll give it hell and see what happens
