Making a custom LED backlit Moomba Max emblem

Started designing a custom emblem I’ll be making for my Max since Skiers Choice doesn’t offer one. More pics once I begin creating the parts but here’s some 3D concept images I created to give you an idea....

Going to 3D print it on Monday. Ran out of too much time to get it started today. I’ll post more updates next week. I might make a few tweaks to it from now until then.

I am SO COPYING you! LOL - only with a retro Moomba logo. My son is taking a pre-engineering class next term and has access to a bunch of 3D printers, CNC, and some other cool stuff.

Well there are two ways I can make it install. Create a temple to drill holes in the plastic insert side panel, then screw it from the backside into threaded holes on my emblem .....or use quality 3M double sided tape.

This looks awesome. I was thinking about doing the same and came across an interesting Moomba panel made by Skiers Choice a few weeks back. You can order it from the Great Lakes Skipper website https://www.greatlakesskipper.com/moomba-boat-light-side-panel-115168-8-x-1-3-4-inch-black-white. The description says it is adhesive back and made from black and white translucent marine grade plastic. Seems like it might be easy to retrofit and backlight. Not sure what Moomba boat it is for originally. I was trying to find the part they use for the Makais I thought I had remembered seeing a lit one there on a Makai at the boat show.

Nice find. Great Lakes Skipper is who also makes the one I originally wanted that comes on the Mojo, Craz etc. My dealer wasn't successful in getting just the light and emblem from Skiers Choice as they said it comes with the whole side panel as well. Someone on the FB owners group was able to get their dealer in Lebanon, TN to order just the light somehow but when I reached out to him he went silent.

I always thought of any kind of tape to be a temporary solution to anything. What I was actually getting to about "easy to install" is the wiring part! Maybe post a video of the process? I dunno. Detailed instructions with quality pictures? Something to make it so an idiot (me) can do it!
