Hey all,

I have an OJ 945 - 15x13 that came with my 17 Mondo. I am running between 3500-4100lbs weight dependent upon the size of crew.

I have the ability to get an ACME 1235 for super cheap...and curious if anyone is running the 1235 on a Mondo of similar weight and year. This would be 100% just a spare and weekend saver and don't expect it to run as well as my 945...but just curious on feedback.

My limited research tells me it should work OK...but more than likely up my RPMs if I am running it with all the weight.

Thanks!

Yes, snag it. That's what I had on the Mojo running as much or more weight than you, it was great! Lower rpms while cruising and wakeboarding. Surfed great as well.

Knox, what should I target for surf and wake rpms at 3500 to 4000 lbs on the Mojo? I think I have the factory surf prop and never have any probs getting to plane but worried I’m pushing too many rpms at wake speeds.

If I remember, I ran 3500 pounds wakeboarding and 4100 surfing plus crew in our Mojo. Wakeboarding at 22-24, it was running around 3400 rpms. Empty weight, I could cruise all day in the low to mid 30s at around those same rpms. Surfing was low to mid 3k rpms as well. It did take it a few to get on plane at wake speeds with 6 or more people, but once up, it was great. The new boat has the 15x13, it runs too high for my tastes and cruising in the high 20s at around 3500 rpms. I will be swapping it out soon.

1235 is the prop I upgraded on the supra and what my last and current boat came with. I would not hesitate to grab it and if it was me I'd swap out the oj and use that for the spare.

Yes sir...Sandm, it really is a great all around prop. I'm going to try a 15x14 on the SA to see how it does.

I had the 1235 on my 14 Mondo, swapped it out for 2419, 15x12. Boat is much happier with the 2419. I'd run what you have, 1235 would be a good backup prop.

Comparing a 15 x 13 to a 14.5 x 14.25, the 1235 would certainly be the less aggressive prop. That does make it a bad prop though. if the price is right, a 1235 would be a good spare to have.

What’s on your SA now? I’m running the 2775 15x12.5 on my 400 and I run outta prop when I’m loaded down. With the extra 600# of lead I can definitely feel it.
I’m about to order a 2419. Most aggressive they make as far as I know.

OJ 950, basically a 945 (15x13) with a more aggressive cup. I have an extra 500 pounds on the boat. No issue surfing fully loaded and 10 people in the boat. We wakeboard more than surf, it struggles to get on plain fully loaded with 5 or 6 in the back with no one up front. But I am finding that running 60 percent ballast for wakeboarding throws a monster wake. We also cruise to places on the water quite a bit, the 950 spins high rpms at 28 mph. It also spins higher than I like for wakeboarding, that's why looking to go with the 951 like the 948 with the aggressive cup (15x14) or the OJ 925 (14.75x13.75). I know either of those props will still perform for surfing. An advantage I have is that will live a town over from OJ props, so I can try them out until finding one that I can live with.

Sounds good, i don’t wake board anymore, only Linz and the kids occasionally and I rarely fill the ballast for them yet. Rpm for me with the 2775 is about 3800-4000 surfing at 11.9. Just cruising empty across the lake with the extra 600 and a few people I’m at 3800 running 23mph! Lol dropping more pitch worries me, but I hate the motor struggling to get to surf speed when we’re slammed.
