Fresh tint on the SA. 5%, they had to remove the frame, but said it came apart fairly easy. Next up is more Seadeck on the transom and bow area from the guys at SC Wake. Spring has sprung, for some at least.

Thanks dude. Precision Tint off Parkside, message me for the ladies name I dealt with for a pretty fair deal at $250. The last boat was 18%. My buddy did 5 and we liked his better in the sun.

Yeah, mine and my buddy's Axis both sold. They have pretty limited wake boat inventory right now. They had a great early season.

So Jordan and I were finally able to hang up the wakeboard that we had signed by so many amazing friends and family members at our wedding! 5+ years ago a lake house and a family of our own were just a dream. Through alot of determination, luck, and God's grace those dreams are becoming a reality. So stoked to be able to walk out the patio doors to the lake! https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/56247871_10161633013030693_5995408671700418560_o.j pg?_nc_cat=102&_nc_ht=scontent-ort2-1.xx&oh=aa01afbade1a540a8fcadb29d74adb0c&oe=5D4EB566

Just a short jump over the pond from Australia to DFW. Always makes me hungry for the marina’s burger and fried gouda at Big Daddy’s.....Nicknamed her Pavlov Air!

Side note. Water temp up to 65 from 60, noticeably warmer. I give it this week of 80s air temp and will be in the 70s by next Friday and the wife will finally join me :) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190406/54b47ed5ec1508d7432763fe1cac44d1.jpg

Same ramp. We live about 10 minutes south near the Creedmoor / Norwood intersection.

It would be cool to connect with another Moomba owner at some point. Perhaps try surfing behind each other’s boats at some point. I have Enzos, lead etc so it’s pretty slammed.

finally got the boat out on saturday. 77 air and 62 water at the dam and 67 out in the main pool by boulder city. floated around for 3 or 4 hours and soaked up the sun. no surfing yet.
beautiful way to spend a saturday. hard to believe it's still 100ft down as the marks on the sides don't look that tall from a distance.

I've been AWOL from the forum for too long! Is Trayson finally getting skins? We didn't get to use the boat much last summer (sold our lake house). We just moved it to Emerald waters of Lake Keowee, SC two weekends ago! We will see it a bit this summer but not enough. Got a generator to operate the lift LOL. We move there from VA in just over a year!! So the boat has a new home but it sits on an empty lot. Can't wait to get down there. Yup missing the "X". Damn boat house is worth more than the boat.

Well, finally got out for the first real surf session today. Water averaged 72, it was about 85 out. Still had a good bite, but it felt good after a bit.
We made a trip to Rinkers early this morning and I picked up 600# of lead to play with for the season, all distributed midship. The wave is bonkers. I love it. Still waiting on all the pics to roll in. But here’s one of Lindsay, she’s 6’ for reference.

Funny you should ask...

I'd have typically been in the water for 2 weeks by now, but the new vinyl (and a bathroom remodel) has set me back. However last week I picked up the upholstry and it's made it as far as a pile in my garage... But a sexy pile of vinyl it is!!!

For sure! I was gonna take pics of the new lead location, but I got popped for a trip.
I added the 600# midship to try and be able to increase the surf speed, and it worked. The amount of push is absurd. Our back legs were toast.

Enzos, factory front ballast. 200# of lead under the leg of each bag under the flip up seats. (Helps drain the legs too)
100# next to the batteries, 100# behind the drivers seat.

We were surfing around 11.7-11.9, with the surf plate at 65, smart plate at 0. 100% ballast all around. I don’t use autowake but I have found that 10.5 pitch and -4.5 roll seems to be the happy spot. I just pull it up when we start and see if we’re close to the numbers and adjust from there.
That day we had my wife driving (120#) and two 200ish# guys on the port side when someone was riding. Nice thing about that lead was it really didn’t matter where anyone sat, the wave didn’t change by much and we messed around for a while.
We all only surf regular, so I really don’t have any goofy numbers.

Gonna jump on it after work today. Hoping I can get it handled pretty quick. I had to remove my sub boxes and the bow speakers, so those have to go back in too.

Hopefully I can figure out where all the hardware goes! I have a big pile of screws, nuts, and bolts. LOL

So we got after it tonight. Some good, some stuff that needs addressed. The curvature of the bow is near impossible to get stretched correctly without having the boat at the upholstery shop. There's some pieces that I'm concerned about how stretched and stressed the vinyl is at the corners. And some parts of the pattern just don't look 100% right. So I'll trailer the boat over to the upholstery shop after work tomorrow. The shop seems very willing to work with me, so I'm hoping for the best.

That said, once I take it back to the shop WITH the boat and tie up the loose ends, I think it'll look badass. Here's a peak at the stuff that's looking good. It's a medium gray with silver carbon fiber, blue carbon fiber, and black carbon fiber vinyl. The piping is the blue CF vinyl and the stitching is also blue.

That vinyl will look really nice once it is all sorted out. Not fun to do.

I had to have him restretch all the front seatbacks. While he was at it, he installed the front seatbacks. I guess it was a bi*** which is what I was expecting. he charged me $150 for that install of them, but I guess he was working on them forever, so I just paid and was happy that I didn't have to fight it myself. I figure I would have tanked an entire evening doing those myself.

I got the boat back yesterday and spent last night getting the rear seatback and the captain's chair installed. The rear seatback was a little tricky for some spots (had to remove the speakers to be able to stick my arm through the cutouts). To put the captain's chair back in, I first had to get my damn speaker box back under the helm. That was a huge PITA, but would have been even worse with the seat back in. So Subs and LED's are all wired back in.

Still need to do an oil change and put all the ballast bags etc back in the boat. so not quite ready. I gave up last night a bit before 9pm and went in and watched GoT. I really wanted to be on the water after work today, but it just wasn't gonna happen without a miraculous push.

Hopefully an improvement over stock ballast and a compression molded Liquid Force board! Doomswell had the 2018s for $350, seemed like a good price..

They make these things called "wetsuits" and even "Drysuits". There's also these cool things called gloves and booties!

I mean, when I go up snowboarding, for some reason I don't wear board shorts and a T-shirt.

No such thing as bad weather, just inadequate gear! If you love the sport, you get some rad gear and go rip!

Really I didn't know that.

When your water gets high 80's, 60's is pretty chilly.

I feel like our summers are plenty hot for plenty long down here. No need for freezing or spending big money to add a few trips.

Here's a picture from last week. Was compounding the previous owners's river water stains off the hull.28335

When we spend $30k to $100k+ on boats, a few hundred on gear isn't that big of deal, at least to me. Our water is only over 70 for maybe a month or two. Boo!

I wear some kinda gear (i.e. heater top) for anything under 70... I'd ride year round of I didn't have to winterize in November.

believe it or not our ski hill just closed and temps here are 90air/70water so you can snowboard and surf without a drysuit this time of the year :)

Way warmer than it was 2.5 weeks ago! In the 70’s now for sure, a few cold pockets here and there but no need for the shorty wetsuit this past outing.

Just realized you got the XL (fin in the middle). I was thinking 4'6" which is sold out. the 4'8" is available. So question, what is the lightest person who rides your board and does it work for them OK or does it feel cumbersome? Heaviest guy of my buddies is 220 and I am 180 so I thought the XL might be too big and floaty? Maybe the 4'8" is perfectly fine being 4" shorter than the XL. I dont have any real surf style boards, so new to me. Just have a hyperlite shim and hifi.....almost bought a doomswell evo blem over winter but trying to support a fellow Texan :)

I love my crew but this is my first high dollar board, ain't nobody riding it but me. I'm hooked though, it rides fast, on rails and the traction pad is fantastic.

We have a Hyperlite Shim 4'7 and Broadcast 5'4 for other riders.

I think the Ringer XL will be too floaty for you at 180, just my suspicion. The 4'8 should be good for you and your buddies.

What are the benefits/longevity of ceramic coating? Is it just the outside that gets done?

Just adds a hardness to the exterior and makes cleanup easier. No they do inside and out. Mines getting a polish beforehand and a 2-3 stage coating.

I’m helping a local shop test their coating and longevity, we’re hoping for multiple seasons. The typically length is 3-5 years I believe.

Tried out surfing for the first time this weekend. Have some work to do on the wake. Ordered surf gate yesterday.
This LF Rocket is supposed to be easy for any rider and it is, as long as you hold the rope (or maybe my wake is too soft).

Also, looks like Trayson and I have the same vinyl material.
