The Supra site has different sizing information than the Moomba site so there is confusion on which boat size is similar.

What more closely matches the LSV.

The Supra Launch 21V or the Launch 22SSV. On the Supra site it lists Length w/o Platform 22' 6"
Length w/ Platform 24' 6"

So I really do not know if this is only 1 foot bigger or 3 feet bigger.

Also, what about the freeboard and widths. Are they measured differently too?

I am asking as I see that once I load my Moomba LSV up, I am close to the Supra in price.

I would say the 21V is closer to the LSV. The LSV is 21'6" without the platfrom. The 21V is 21'2" without the platform and the 22SSV is 22'6". The 22 is a very big boat for still being a 22 footer.

I do not believe there is a direct compatible model. For 05, the Moomba LSV, (shich is now the 07 "V",) & the Supra Launch 20 series is the same hull. The Supra line has more research and development and usually has at least 5 different hulls. Moomba gets the benefit of that R&D a few years later and gets 3 or so hulls from the pack. We don't mind those hand-me-downs - it is all worth it.
I think the delta in price is about $5K for "simmilar" boats - they can never be apples to apples, as the Supra line adds lots of 'bling' and 'comfy' to the boat for the $. And a bit for the brand. ;)

Hope this helps,

Joe

So for only 6" of added room going from the LSV to the 22, it sounds like the added width is what helps.

So it looks like the LSV is still the best boat then.

FYI, the 2005 LSV (now the 2007 Outback V) and the 2007 Launch 20 is not the same hull. Same size and dimensions but not the same lines and running surface.

yea, The hulls are a lot different. It is not 6" here & there, you really need to talk with a dealer. A friend of mine just bought a Supra and it takes more discussion than I want to add.

well put sd2,

you really need to look at them side by side and make your choice from there.

it is really difficult to be attempting to make you decision based off the price of the boat builder.

i have had one of each and both great boats.
