Looking for a measurement from the ground to highest point of boat on trailer with tower folded on the 2019 model. I've got a 9' door. Thanks!

I’ve got to go by my dealer this weekend to drop off some things. If someone hasn’t chime in by then I can get a measurement for you. I am not sure about a 9’ door since the Max is a very tall boat but I will check for you.

I don’t have the measurements but it can assure you it will clear a 9 foot door, most folded tower wake boats easily clear 108”

And the majority will clear 8 feet, but it gets close or you may need to remove a bracket to clear.

It’s possible it would clear. I was just going by posts I’ve seen on here before where a dealer measured a 2018 Max and it was apparently 110”. Also depends on the wheels and tires you have on the Boatmate trailer of course, so maybe that one was running larger wheels than the stock 15” wheels. The 2019’s come with the taller A3 tower so I suspect the height would increase a little more as well. I need to get the measurement for a member on another forum, so if someone can confirm the 2019 height that would be great. Otherwise I will just check this weekend.

Ah didn't think to look into the owner's manual although that looks like they're using the 2018 Max owners manual boat image and using the same dimensions. Perhaps the A3 tower doesn't sit any higher?

The tower when folded might have the same high point or at least the same measurement as the 2018 even though it is a different tower [emoji2369]

This is a screen shot of the video so everyone can quick clicking the play icon LMAO! It was the only way I could illustrate it.

TX Surf great looking Makai!!

Sorry to say this, but every time I look at it, it screams at me that it needs 18" wheels/tires on that trailer though.

Thanks man!!

Ya as awesome as the 18s look I couldn’t spring the extra 3k when this thing will have a home in a lift in the next year. Believe me I looked hard at the 18s. My dealers demo had them on it and they looked sick but I decided to put the money in the boat for things like the 450 motor, verticals board racks and such since the trailer will just sit for most part. If I was going to trailer it everytime I used it then I would have gotten them [emoji106]

A bit OT but is it still possible to use the cover with the tower folded?

I have an 18 with a different tower but I highly doubt that the factory cover will work with a folded tower.

I bought an over the tower cover to protect it all. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190320/cfb89a3ac67af43376cf84860edbc067.jpg

Do you have a link to the cover and does it keep water out?

The cover does a good job of keeping water out and does not pool with a front support pole (I added) and straps.

Hey surgical,

I swung by my dealer to drop off some leftover old boat items and measured the folded tower height while I was there. It measured 9' 5 1/2" to the top of the board racks with the trailer jack at a level position. You could maybe get it lower by jacking the trailer down or using a drop hitch. Removing the racks looks like it would be close to 9'.

For anyone wondering height with tower raised was around 11' but it was kind of hard to measure without crawling all on the side of the dealers boat.

I wonder where they got the 98” from then? Maybe without board racks [emoji2369]

I think they just copied the specs and page from the 2018 owner's manual which that year the Max came with an A2 tower. From what I understand on dealer videos I've seen is that the A3 is a little taller. Not sure on that but if so that would make sense. Removing the racks still looks like you're 9' or so. I pushed down on the tower until the bimini arm came within about an inch to touching the arm rest. I wasn't sure if there were tower stops or what but didn't want to damage the arm rest so I stopped pushing lol. I don't think it would make much difference in height even if I made it touch the arm rest. I don't know about the 98" but perhaps they also meant with the jack all the way down? I'm just going to spec for a 12' high carport or canopy cover to be safe, that way I can just leave the tower up all the time.

This may be a double post. I tried to post friday, but it hasnt come through yet. Did the trailer you measured off of have the upgraded 18" rims or just the standard 15" ones? I've got 106.5" of clearance with the garage door. I will probably not have board racks in the beginning but it is possible I will add them later. I dont mind lowering a jack but I dont want to let the air out of the tires every time. It's looking like we may be leaning toward the Craz now due to the height. I really appreciate you stopping by and measuring it youve been a great help haknslash!

This trailer was standard 15" wheels. Glad to help!
