Thinking of getting a 2008 xlv. What is reasonable price for one in good condition and are there any known issues with this model?

Thanks

My buddy @pslitty who is on this forum selling his 08 XLV.

We put the GoSurfAssist surf system on it and GPS cruise so it’s all decked out.

Thank You, that looks like an awesome boat, however it's a little out of my price range.

I'm no expert but an 08 xlv i would think would be in the mid to upper $30K. Obviously it depends on the condition, hours, and upgrades. My buddy has o 08 xlv and he has been thinking of selling his the last year or so and he thinks it's worth about $35K. It's in great shape with around 700 hrs but not a lot of upgrades. Check on the website inboardsonly.com and see if they have any for reference. Good luck

2008 you're basically gonna have to gut the ballast system and start over to make it faster.

On the 340 Cat engine, change out the plastic elbows on the hoses going into the manifold to brass.

Add 1100's to the rear lockers and add the 1180 gravity games bag to the playpen locker. put one of the stock 400 rear bags under the surf side seats and add a suck gate and it surfs great.

Been done on pslitty’s boat. All reversible pumps (3) with the kit from wakemaker’s.

That is like the sticker price when that boat was new! My 08 LSV base MSRP was $39,999

I’ve seen them go for 30ish. A lot depends if the systems are upgraded: stereo, ballast bags, pumps.

I can see something with ballast, pumps, and surf tabs going over 40k. Like that CL post.

New prices keep he used prices high.

That boat is better than a new Base 2008 LSV for sure. It's got upgraded ballast, it's got a surf system. wetsounds tower speakers, etc. That XLV is WAY better than any stock 2008, even if the stock 08 had zero hours.

And if you look at the prices or 2009 and newer XLV's when they started to get the better ballast systems, they weren't that cheap.

Exactly. once I get my vinyl replaced mine's going to be worth a good chuck. definitely worth more than I paid for it with all the upgrades. :-D

agree. that's a lot of scratch for an 11 year old moomba no matter the upgrades.
stereo isn't over the top.
ballast is expected in a wakeboat
gsa adds to the price but probably a wash due to the smaller motor.

I would think the right price starts with a 3 but more power to him if he gets it.

this reminds me of the old saying "there's 1 born every minute"... good for the seller, can't say I feel that way about the buyer but at the end if both parties think it's a good deal then it was.

edit, checked nada and shows average retail at 28k base. add-on's would probably get it to low 30's, possibly 35 if loaded up.
