Tower Pins

I have a 2004 XLV GG that has a factory swoop tower. It has two pins that are on either side of the tower about half way up the back tube.

Please could some one tell me if these pull out or unscrew?? I have tried both and niether seems to work!

tobes, they unscrew.

sometimes i have to really turn hard on both to get them loose.
