I'm trying to install a Perko Flush Kit to my Indmar 5.7L 340hp Engine. I have just received the boat and have noticed itsappears to have two water pickups on the hull. One of which has a stop cock.

Q 1) Are both pickups active?

Q 2) I have hardly any room to fit the flush kit, is this an normal issue on V-Drives? Can any one suggest a good location for the flush kit??

Q 3) If I fit the flush kit to the sea cock side would this be sufficient?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts :?:

Tobes, the other one is your ballast pickup.

Yes it is very tight in the vdrive comparment. I had to buy extra hose to be able to make it fit.

Many thanks for your reply,

So am i wright in saying the left side as you look towards the back of the boat is the main water pick up for the engine and the right side that has no stop cock is for the ballast??

The only other point i noticed is that the left pick up runs straight into some sort of pump then into a clear filter. Is this normal??

Tobes, On my supra, it's on the port side. What you need to do is follow the hose and check to see if it goes in the transmission cooler. If it does you have found the right hose to connect your flush kit to.

The clear filter "thing" is either the raw water strainer.
