We followed the Indmar 10 hour break in to a T. I figure if it wasn’t necessary it wouldn’t be in the manual and following the break in wouldn’t hurt anything. It was a long day driving around Conroe going slow though lol.

Also after being inspired by RC_Hinjosa we are getting a price to coat the Bimini Arms and Rev10s with the Cranberry Metal Flake when we take her back for the 20hr service. Not 100% sure if we will have it done but we are really leaning that way!

So we went and did all of the paper work today and are supposed to take delivery on the 8th if everything goes smoothly with coating and tinting.

I also wanted to find out from those of you who got your boats new, did you follow a break-in for the motor and if so what did you do? The Indmar Manual has a detailed 10hr break-in procedure that I was planning on following but wanted to see what you guys did. Any tips or pointers for the break-in? TIA

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had no idea the dealer could do that, I’ll have to check w mine about paint!

Not sure break in is 100% necessary but I’m under the impression Indmar can look back through engine history if something happens. My guess is one of the first things they do is look at the first 10-20 hours. I’m not gonna chance it. I’ll probably follow it to a T.

I’m probably gonna change the oil more often than recommended, every 20-30 hours since we’ll be surfing so much. Bought 24qt of Ford Motorcraft oil off Amazon, works out to $40 an oil change.

Pacific Blue arms & cans would look pretty killer on yours...

The contrast on the tower really sets it off.

Ya my plan was to follow it to a T as well. Just wanted to see what others experiences were. I know it will definitely make for a long, slow day on Conroe but I feel it will give us good time to get acclimated to the boat as well.

Ya I think so too! The tech at the dealer said when he mixes the paint he usually has enough to do the Sub Grille as well so we might opt for that too!

So a quick question for you guys. My boat is going to get tinted on Monday and will be inside their shop over night Monday and most likely Tuesday night as well. I know you northern guys will laugh at this but should my dealer drain the motor before they take it to the shop with the possibility of a “light” freeze both nights? (I have attached the forecast) the shop is a steel building that appeared insulated but not sure if it was climate controlled as today was nice day temperature wise.
I only ask because because I don’t have near the knowledge that some of you do when it comes to these boats. TIA28126

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYou'll be fine. Down here it's only a real concern if there are several consecutive days of hard freeze.

I can show you how to winterize our motors...it's pretty simple once you've done it one time.

Yeah with a low of 32 I don't believe you have anything to worry about. If it starts hitting the 20s for multiple hours then there would be some cause for concern.

Ya this weekend and next weekend aren't looking all that great! Sunday looks great but hopefully as it gets closer it will clear up a little.

With the forecast change and the temps dipping a little more than originally forecasted do you think there is any cause for concern with the boat at the tint shop? It is inside and will be over night as well.

Most likely not but I don't want to tell you something and be wrong. It literally takes like 10 minutes to drain the water from the cooling system.

The is a blue plastic plug on the bottom of the Vdrive on the front. It is under the prop shaft couple, remove it. There is a hose that connects the exhaust manifolds, looks like a garden hose connection, disconnect the two halves in let drain. On the starboard side near the front of the engine (back of the boat) there is a tall black cylinder, this is your heat exchanger and it has another blue plastic plug in the bottom of it. Remove it. A little more centrally located on the motor than that is an elbow that has another blue plug in it, remove it. The water pump impeller housing is secure by 4 5/16" bolts. Remove them and the housing cover. Above the alyernator there is a blue plastic cover that has threaded holes to hold you plugs that you removed. Boom, your cooling system is winterized.

For the ballast system if you just disconnect the bags and hit the drain switch for each pump for a couple seconds you should be good.

Ya it is kind of a weird situation because I haven't taken delivery of the boat yet so I am not really sure who is "responsible" for it. Either way I want to make sure it is taken care of properly.

Wow the boat is really coming along nicely man! I'd love to have my cans and bimini arms painted to match the ultra blue! How much did it cost you?

Do you know if these are decent speaker covers? https://www.rockvilleaudio.com/rwbc80-for-2-rev8/ I've never bought these before but seems like a good idea to keep them from getting pitted and splattered with bugs during trailering.

PM sent on cost

I couldn’t tell you about those speaker covers. I got the WetSounds ones on amazon for less than $100 and they are great!!

I know it was a month ago but, I finally got around to taking pictures of the new wakemakers bags in the Makai.

Thank you for the pictures! Looks like they fit about like I had imagined—With a little room for a cargo net or something like that on top. Kind of surprised at the way the top is shaped—looks like there’s a little chicken left on that bone. Not much tho—

Thanks for sharing!! Were they a simple install? Do the sensors still function properly as far as showing and being full?

The installation was not too bad. A few screws to get the bins out. Then 2 quick fittings on the back and 1in the front. The connections came in the box. The bags are specific to port and starboard. All the sensors seem to be working great. No issues that I know of.

One quick fitting in the front? I have two. Interesting.

I think 3 in back and 2 in front......

I might be wrong. Old man brain.....
On a separate note. Does anyone remember the stock autowake settings? I messed around and lost my notes. Thanks

Since that’s the older Supra screen and system there should be a feature to factory button in there.

I don’t think it’s exactly the pre 2019 Supra screen.

Definitely not the old system. It is the same screen.

I do believe there is a return to factory setting option as Dakota stated.
