Just finishing up a 24x32 detached garage with 9' OH door. Currently in a 13LSV so I have no issues with height currently. How many of my Supra/Moomba owners can fit their boats in that size door with tower down and racks on? I understand wheels and type of racks will play a factor also. be as specific you can. Will not be in new boat market for a couple summers. Just have the wheels spinning on this currently and hoping for feedback.

I fit a 16 mojo with standard rim and tires through an 8’ door with 5” clearance to the board racks but my clearance is higher than actual due to a 7 degree upslope in the driveway up to the door. I also don’t have the rotating board racks which add a bit of height.

I measured a new makai to be 97.5” tall with the tower down but you have to remove the Bimini support arms because they hit the throttle on the driver side. Hope they fix this issue soon. I figured I could fit this boat through a 8’ door but only because of my sloped driveway.

This seems CRAZY on a new designed boat, your positive it hits the throttle and can't just fold the tower?

I was just as surprised as the dealer.

You have to put it into gear or reverse—in other words, move the lever. Then it kind-of clears. BUT: it might barely hit the vinyl armrest. Place a double-triple thick towel where it hits and it will “slide” by most likely.

But yes, there is a clearance issue. But whatever, it’s got a “decent” workaround. Not ideal, but not a show stopper.

Supra power towers hit the drivers seat unless its full down and rotated clockwise.

I have a '15 mojo with S tower and swivel racks, standard SS rims. I need over 9 ft clearance with tower folded. have to rent a storage during the summer b/c I cant fit it through my 8" door. I have contemplated moving so I can build a garage that'll fit my boat.

My 2015 Mondo clears an 8 ft door with the tower down all the way and board racks turned in. When I bought the house the garage had a 7 ft door that I had converted to an 8 ft.

I have a 2016 Supra SE450 and I fit mine in my 8 foot garage fits by about a 1/2 inch[emoji16]. When I put the boat in the garage I do use a 8 inch drop hitch and remove the PTM racks. If you have a dual axle trailer you can adjust the torsion bars and get about a inch if needed. My SE450 is on a triple axle trailer and the use leaf springs so no real adjustment.

The new 2019 SE is 5 inches taller then previous years and thinking about upgrading. So I will have to raise the header to 9 foot to clear might be a winter project.

My '18 Craz would clear a 9' door with rack folded on the leaf spring trailer. It does NOT clear an 8' door - ask me how I know... Mojo should be identical.

I appreciate all the feedback guys. You were much nicer than the fb page, haha. I’m at 10’ walls so 9’ will be the highest It can go. Wasn’t wild about the look of a 10’ door next to our home that’s currently being built as well. Wanted to make it look like it belonged with the house.

I know what you talking about in the front of the house.

I'm going to be building on a basement lot. On the back of the house, I wanted another garage door bling under the house. Probably 9' door max.

Finally someone agrees with me. Over on the fb page I asked the same question. If I did what they suggested I would have a 60x80 detched garage with a 16’ door. Oh and live in a port a potty next to it.

I am building a 32x32 detached with 10 ft doors, but it will also be my workshop and have and auto lift in it. No matter how you cramit in a garage, a garaged boat has less wear then a non garaged one

We are building on only on 1.2 acres. If we had the space to separate the house and garage more I would’ve approached it differently. Sounds like you have a great setup!

You have plenty of room for a 30x40 shop.

Nice touch with the lift. Cousin put one in. Hot rod friends lined-up outside. Great setup. Not sure if the wife is too happy b/c the boys practically live out there.

Mine me asking what this costs? My biggest pet peeve with builders is 9’ ceilings and 7’ garage doors. It literally only costs $100 to do it during construction [emoji1749]*[emoji3603]

I also removed the 7' door and put in an 8' to fit my LSV in the garage. It cost me around $1500 for the new door, opener, and framing materials. Unfortunately for me, the existing header was directly above the door and not right to the top plate, so I had to move the actual header. Also, wind bracing requirements have changed so I had to do a portal frame. I was able to sell the old door and opener for around $300

About $3K to raise the header and order a new door. Overpriced but will pay for itself by avoiding storage cost.

"only 1.2 acres?!?!?!"

LOL. I have just under 6900 square foot lot. that's 0.16 acres. On it I have an 1800 sqft house, a 3 car garage, and a 21x40' carport that my boat lives under. And I still have my backyard that's about 45 deep x 50' wide. And you have over an Acre more than me. LOL
